He may not be putting the points up but Larkin had his first ever fight tonight! He did have 5 SOG
Ryan Sproul also made his season debut and had a PP assist and saw 2:17 on the 2nd unit.
Lovvvvvvvvvvvvving this start from Vanek......but just wanna say he had a pretty good one last year too. Beware
First 24 games: 10 goals, 9 assists.
Season total: 74 games, 18 goals, 23 assists

Blashill said something to the effect of "if he plays he'll score" after last night's game. To be honest I haven't watched much of them yet but from afar it sounds good. Great assist on the goal tonight.
PP time tonight:
Green: 7:27 (is that a typo?!)
Sproul: 3:50
Dekeyser: 2:34
Smith: 1:32
Just to take a look at Hank's struggles in the shootout over the years.....thank god Blashill finally went away from him last year.
Thursday's winner vs StL was Zetterberg's first shootout goal since............drumroll.....2012-13. He was 0-9 since then.
Including 2012-13 he's 2 for his last 15.
From 2005/06 to 2011/12 he was a respectable 12 for 44.
Is Zetterberg declining even more from last year? His shot totals are really poor so far this year.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
What's the story with Tatar? Seems like he's snakebit (sky high PDO) and due to start putting up points.

Red Wings haven't won in Philly since Jan. 25, 1997. 0-11-0 since then.
Good luck tonight.
Had a lead late. This game felt like last year.
0-11-1 in Philly
This next week will likely determine the Wings' angle for the rest of the year. They're not too far out of it yet but they have SIX games between now and next Sunday.....
Unfortunately they play CBJ twice, Washington and Minny in that span.
When your former 4th line penalty killer Patrick Eaves has 21 goals.....and your highest scorer is 14 goals.....you know it's a bad year.
