Geez, how can the Kings afford him? I'm confused lol
Though Jeff Zatkoff not at fault for Kings 2 losses, sources say team has made an inquiry on Jets Ondrej Pavelec. #KickingTires

Does this work for the Kings if the Jets retain the max amount of salary?

Pavelec has $3.9M cap hit. The Jets definitely need to eat the maximum 50% of it, so that leaves $1.95M for the Kings. Based on General Fanager, the Kings have around $1.5M in cap space currently. Budaj is $600k, so it is actually doable but they won't be left with any breathing room. Maybe the Jets are willing to take someone like Scuderi back from them which would help a little.
Quick will go onto the LTIR. That will free up space.
I think LTIR helps make this feasible... Have to wonder what they'd want and whether this deal would actually help getting Pavelec back on track... Have to say though Hutchinson and Hellebyuck have hardly inspired the Jets to cut Pavelec entirely loose yet...
Experience is the teacher of all things.

The Jets are in no hurry to move Pavelec and I don't see them taking a loss here to move him. Obviously the Jets would have to eat some of Pavelec's salary for the Kings to be able to afford him so that is something the Kings will have to "pay" for. The Jets aren't going to take a bad contract to help out the Kings here. Why would they?
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League
25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

I also don't see the Jets taking on a bad contract. But I could see them eating 50% of the contract to make it happen. Roughly $2 million in dead space is better than having a roughly $4 million goalie taking away starts from Comrie in the AHL. (And if you just plan to sit Pavelec in the AHL, having someone else take on half the salary still makes sense).
Obviously the Kings will have to pay for it. They'll give a draft pick or prospect. I could see something like Mersch + 3rd for Pavs.
