This is awesome thanks man
Hello All,
Now that the drafts are done, I figured I would bring everything for the pools into one thread. So all the discussion and the standings for both group A and B will be updated in this thread.
Thanks to butch for suggesting a website that will be able to keep track for us.
The website is pickuphockey.com

Can you post both results here. It would be interesting to compare. Did Vancouver go last in pool A as well?

Avalanche will the widest spread.
Picked 14th in B, 21st in A.
My analysis
Stars I selected 5th - They are 3rd ranked team based on average above
Islanders I selected 12 - They 13th ranked team based on average above
Avs I selected 21 - They are 17th ranked team based on average above
Coyotes I selected 28 - They are ranked 26 and 30 based on average.
I know average does not mean much when it only averaging out your draft with one other draft... but I like to analyze so whatever data I have to analyze is what I will analyze. haha.
Looks like I took Calgary fairly early haha, but I have high hopes for them (and Winnipeg) this year!
FANTASY LEAGUE: "Hockey Night on Hoth" (est. 2012)
TEAM NAME: "The Barrelriders"
FORMAT: H2H Keeper League (Keep 4 - no more than two per position)
TEAM FORMAT: 12 Teams, 17 Players per Team (3C, 4W, 3D, 2G, 5Util)
STAT CATS: G, A, P, PPP, FW, Shots, Hits, Blocks | Wins, SVS, GAA, SV%
MY TEAM:
C | N. Mackinnon,
W | J. Benn, J. Pavelski
D |
G | A. Vasilevskiy
It appears as though I picked my teams right around where they were picked in the other draft.
I picked TB 1 and they went 3 in the other draft.
Minnesota picked at 16 and they went 17 in the other draft (16/17 are two picks from the same GM)
Boston picked at 17 and they went 19 in the other draft
Carolina picked at 32 while their average pick was at spot 29.5.
PS: Penguinhunter, you might want to group up the 4 Hurricanes and the 4 Coyotes picks to make your predicted numbers make more your averages make more sense since the Hurricanes were picked at 31/32 in one draft and picked much higher both times in the other draft.
I just realized I have 3 teams in the Metropolitan division. Maybe not the brightest idea, but we'll see how it plays out.

Preds, Ducks, and Wings all go in the exact same spot.. I love it!!

Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
wings never miss playoffs so I had to snag em at that juncture
I considered this... but I thought maybe it was better to show them as 2 separate Hurricanes and 2 Separate Coyotes picks because the first Coyote pick in the one draft was drafted earlier then the other.
So I treated the first Coyote team picked in each draft as Coyotes 1
and the 2nd Coyote team picked in each draft as Coyotes 2.

didn't anyone ever teach you to 'never say never'
I think the streak might (MIGHT) end this year.
