Default Sergachev : Provorov of his draft class?

    Hi,

Just some quick advice about Sergachev. One year from now, could he be rated as high as Provorov is now? In other words, do you think he's gonna have - like Provorov - a monster year in junior after his draft year?

Sergachev doesn't seem to be offensive-rated as a blue-chip prospect D, but 57 pst in 67 GP looks very good, and he had a bad start in 15-16.

I don't think he'll be at the same level as Provorov (complete 2 way D man)

Sergachev - Risk and reward type Offensive D. worth picking up in a keeper for sure.
He'll probably get some hype soon. I see him as a blue chip D for Montreal. (2years out at least)

Maybe not as high as Provorov but I can see similar jump in his value happening. Then again he has been going rather high in drafts already, so it would be difficult for him to go much higher. But maybe compared to other prospects who are not from the 2016 draft class.

I think he is less multi cat and more a point scorer than Provorov... initial reports out of Montreal is that they are looking at him to quarterback their PP in the future whereas Provorov potentially has Ghost ahead of him for that spot

There were rumours earlier this summer that the Habs will give him a fair shot of making the team and won't necessarily send him right back to juniors.

Montreal is know to send back prospect to juniors most of the time. They have enough depth at D right now and will want to give him a real shot at playing big minutes when they feel he's ready. Another year in juniors will help him grow is game and mature a little more. I have a feeling he'll slot in when Markov leaves (probably next year or even the following)

For the futur, as some said, he's more of an offensive D than a multi cat guy. But his offensive potential might be even higher than Provorov. We'll see, but he was labeled as the best defensmen of its draft year.

I can't find the source anymore but I read somewhere that if Puljujärvi hadn't dropped to the Oilers, they would have taken Sergachev with the 4th overall pick. That would have been nice for his value in fantasy hockey but Montreal isn't a bad place for him either; I think he'll find his way onto their top pair within a few years and stay there for a long time.

I read about that too but I don't buy it. Maybe he stays for a few games but that's it.

Interesting guys. I'm not really hoping he stays this year, that's why I compare him a bit with Provorov. Provorov played junior after his draft year but his fantasy value has going up since summer 2015. I don't think he's easy to acquire now and those who drafted him last year are probably really happy with the value they have in their hands now.

I'm wondering if I can expect the same with Sergachev. Draft now and value goes up even with him playing junior because next year will be too late to grab him.

Maybe but then it will die when he gets to the NHL and plays with that forward group

Yeah, Sergachev will absolutely struggle with a top5 LW in the NHL, a top10-15 RW , and a 21 year old center who scored 30 while playing middle 6 minutes. Oh and Radulov.

Funny jokes. The Habs offense is paper thin.

I don't know man, I have this gut feeling that the Habs forward are more skilled than the Windsor Spitfires.
