Lopsided, maybe. But it's not completely ridiculous, and in a public league I think it's what you should expect. Toews and Backes are seen as premium assets by a lot of people, so the trade doesn't surprise me at all.
So a trade between 2 other coaches is Tank and Thornton for Toews and Backes. To me this shouldn't be allowed but it'll likely go through since some of the managers likely won't be paying attention.
What does everyone else think? I know it's still somewhat quality players. But a Top 10 plus another potential Top 10 if he plays like last year, for 2 guys that are middling.

Yahoo Projections for this coming year:
Toews & Backes VS Joe & Tank
48/57 G
58/94 A................62% increase
+/- 19/28
24/51 PPP.............112% increase
343/414 SOG
That is a pretty crazy trade. Is it some new guy getting taken to the cleaners? Email him and give him a clue.....
Do these guys trade often? Maybe this is paying back for a trade somewhere else (like when one was pushing for the win/playoffs etc)
Most people do not want to veto trades. Either you need to manage up or find a league where this does not happen?

It's probably not veto worthy. Especially since it's not just a points league. Yes there is a clear winner, but that doesn't mean the other manager isn't getting what he wants.

Fair enough points but keep in mind this is a public league so it's the first time dealing with any of these guys so it's likely not a trade from another year since it's not a keeper league (Yahoo Public is year to year).

Yeah, yahoo public leagues always have some questionable deals. If there's a second deal that occurs soon and is lopsided in favour of the same team then you start to wonder if it's the same guy with two accounts.

If you buy the idea that Thornton regresses (I do) and that Toewes is better this season (I don't) and that Backes has a spot in the top 6 in Boston (ummmm) and that St Louis tries to spread its offence and play defensive hockey (ummmm) I can see why it would appeal to both sides but not veto worthy.... It's whether this is how they were thinking when making the deal that is the bigger question
Experience is the teacher of all things.

Probably friends. Did it cost money? I wouldn't care that much as it is a public league. Instead offer the dumb manager horrible(ish) trades in hopes he takes one haha

They are there. The current points list 2015-2016 season points, but you can scroll thru other options to find projections for remainder of the season. Take this as it is but there couold be some changes up or down before the season starts with Yahoo. I do not use the yahoo rankings other than a guide to where other GM's will see players ranked (we use Yahoo) so I know the general rounds a player might go in if they are following along on the list.

While it may be unbalanced, it is not veto worthy. In a league where I was the commish, I might not even investigate this. Name recognition value is allover both sides on this one.

So update to this one. Hopefully I can get advice because now this HAS to be collusion.
There was a 2nd trade set up and now the full trade is as follows.
Toews
Backes
Subban
Palat
For
Tarasenko
Thornton
Karlsson (yes Erik)
Brassard
This one has now pushed my buttons. Sure Brassard doesn't scream great value but if you dropped Brassard for Palat and just focused on Tarasenko/Thornton/Karlsson for Toews/Backes/Subban, that borders are r*tarded and obvious.

It's Yahoo Public. I would check the profiles of the 2 involved. You might be able to glean some info from that and you will see how long they've been playing, with those id's anyways.
In Yahoo Public you will get a wide array of people from first timers to guys who are doing in on a lark but definitely a lot of inexperience. Some trades will be because someone has a man crush on a specific player even if he might be inferior to what he is trading away.
If one or both has hidden id's it might be suspicious but back in the day when I did my penance in Yahoo Public I saw way worse and the levels that some people will go through to win a cyber trophy in the hopes it gets them out of that burger flipping job boggles the mind.
I think though that Yahoo has made it a little more difficult to have multiple id's in one league, no?
If other people seem to be speaking up then maybe vote to veto or ask each GM to post explaining their reasoning which is what happens in the Dynasty leagues I'm in if there is any question about something.
