DAMN! First Ward sigs in Carolina and now this MAF talk in Calgary. WHAT IS TO BE MADE WITH RIEMER!?

The Calgary Flames are reportedly looking into the availability of a certain Stanley Cup-winning goaltender.
Flames general manager Brad Treliving has been in contact with Pittsburgh Penguins GM Jim Rutherford about Marc-Andre Fleury, reports Eric Francis of the Calgary Sun.
Matt Murray supplanted Fleury as the Penguins' starter in the playoffs and led Pittsburgh to its fourth title Sunday.
Fleury's cap hit is $5.75 million for each of the next three seasons. He signed a four-year, $23-million extension in the fall of 2014.
Murray's on the books for $620,000 before potentially becoming a restricted free agent next summer.
The Penguins are about $2.4 million over the cap ceiling, according to General Fanager.
Rutherford said Thursday that "in a perfect world," he'd love to keep both Fleury and Murray, according to DKPittsburghSports.com's Josh Yohe.
Given the Penguins' cap situation, that utopian scenario seems somewhat unrealistic.

I'd be curious to see what Calgary would have to give up for him. I guess it really depends on what Pittsburgh sees as their biggest need. Definitely something to be excited about for Calgary though.

I remember when Schneider got traded for the 9th overall. Where's Calgary drafting at again in the 1st round?
A two time SC winner must have solid value on the open market one would think.

I don't mind this as long as they don't pay too much. #6 is too much.
2nd and a prospect? Calgary does have 3 seconds this year. I guess it depends a lot on Pittsburgh and whether they want to shop Fleury a bit.

Goalies rarely get much in a deal. Halak was red-hot as an asset and he fetched Lars Eller. Fleury might get a 2nd + something. Maybe.

Is anyone really surprised Treliving has contacted Rutherford on the availability of Fleury? You can probably guarantee Treliving has contacted Anaheim and Tampa on the availability of their goalies as well. If he hasn't, he should be fired. Now the question is how much is Pittsburg looking for. I heard on TSN 1050 radio station someone suggesting something like Wideman and a 2nd. But I honestly don't even know if that makes sense. There's no way Calgary would part with their 6th overall pick. It's a buyers market. Carolina just signed Ward, so take them off the list of teams going after a goalie.
Also another note, Calgary would have to be on Fleury's list of teams that he would want to go to. He has a modified no trade clause.
The Pens need defense IMO, are the Flames willing to part with Brodie for example?

I was thinking about this trade yesterday. As a Devils fan (and Schneider fan), I want Schneider to get traded ASAP. Reasons:
-The Devils have a bottom 3 roster. Schneider can make a case for being a top 5 goalie. He just prevents them from rebuilding and they prevent him from winning in his prime. It's a sad struggle
-I have to think the return for him would be better than Bo Horvat, so it's not like the Devils moved backwards
-Wedgewood and Blackwood are both decently promising prospects
-The goalie market is clearly at a point where they could get a serviceable replacement if they decided to deal arguably the most valuable goalie available
-I do not think the Devils have given Schneider any incentive to want to sign a long term extension
I don't know, may not be the right thread for this, but it just hurts to see such a great goalie on such a bad team.
With the Flames D (or name weight on D at least) they just need a goalie that can stop a beachball.
