I sure hope so. I got Erik Karlsson, The Ghost, Anthony Deangelo, Brandon Montour, Ryan McDonagh
From what I've seen he looks very solid so far.
Haha. I quite agree with you Fighting Emu. Ghost has nowhere near proven himself to be a top 5 d man in the league. Could he get there? Possibly. But to claim that he is already in that rarefied air would be overly optimistic. Then again, saying he is a 40 point D-man who has simply been the beneficiary of a lucky situation would be being overly pessimistic. Usually it seems the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I hope he does keep it up, but we have seen many young D sputter after hot starts. Expectations will be higher next year and this opens the door for a lot of disappointment. As I say, I hope you are right because he looks really good, but I wouldnt be surprised if he stalls a bit next year.

I love what Ghost is doing don't get me wrong but I agree with the majority here it's just far too early to be making such claims.
I'll take top 20 ranking as a favourable and likely final ranking and right about where I'd take him next season behind the elites like Karlsson, Burns, Klingberg, OEL, Letang, Subban, Josi, Byfuglien, Carlson, Giordano, Hedman, Shattenkirk, Faulk, Ekblad, Doughty, Keith, Weber.
Then I'd slot in Ghost with Brodie, Ristolanen, Krug, Vatanen tiers looking something like that.
If you wanted to put Ghost ahead of the final three guys I wouldn't argue much about that. But top 2 is far too optimistic for me right now.
Five teams exist as of now- Two Random Public ESPN Leagues, Three Yahoo Leagues.
One real keeper league
He does have a ways to prove himself but, he is on track to do so. Extended his point streak to 8 games today.
I seem to remember many people calling Ghost more of a pp specialist than the other Philly D prospects so at this point I wouldn't be too scared of Prov or Sanheim taking his top unit pp time. In certain leagues it might not be a bad idea to have them as insurance but for strictly fantasy purposes, Ghost was usually ranked a little higher.

heh. I knew who he was because Hockeyforums.net is full of Flyers fans
Which also means I did not get him in 2 of 3 pools.........They were all over him.
Got him in my work league tho. And Hellebuyck. Before they had played a single NHL game. most people were like "Who?"
They ain't saying who anymore lol

I'm not getting over excited, I'm just making a bold prediction (which isn't actually even that bold when you look at Ghost's point per game average as compared to other D men who have played at least 30 games- he is 4th). It wouldn't be as fun if everyone only said sure-bet things like "Karlsson will most likely finish #1 in points" or "Subban will outscore Doughty."

I absolutely LOVE Ghost. The only D I clearly like more than him moving forward in fantasy are...
1. EK65 (class of his own)
2. Subban
I have Ghost up there with (or a hair ahead of) OEL, Klingberg, Letang, Shattenkirk, Barrie, Josi, Faulk, etc.
Watching this kid play, there's definite shades of Karlsson.
When Karlsson was a rookie, I say he'd score 70 and people said I was bananas. After a few years, I said he would one day hit 85, and again, people thought I was off my rocker.
I'm saying this now... Ghost will score 65-70 points within 3 years.

OEL was the hard one - I love this dude. He runs that whole team. But, being a Flyers fan, I haven't missed a game Ghost has played, and this kid is special. There's plays he makes that remind me of Karlsson and where he REALLY reminds me of EK is in the confidence department. I don't think I've ever seen young players as confident in their abilities as Karlsson and Ovechkin were when they burst onto the scene. Maybe Crosby... and Eichel / Larkin this year. Well, Ghost is up there. He's extremely confident and that's scary good. And, like what the Sens did with Karlsson, the Flyers are giving Ghost some leeway to gamble.

Hope you're right Fung. I take your word on D men closest to heart around these parts. Picked Ghost off waivers and had to move a 7th rd pick to get that waiver pick. Glad I did. Good on these forums for bringing him to life. Really enjoy reading these threads.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
He's just too good, COD.
Slippery, great shot, awesome puck-rusher and brilliant at decoys. His fake shot passes are phenomenal and he's great at winding up and drifting for better shooting lanes. He's basically turned the Flyers season around and is the guy they all look for on the PP, including Giroux.
Ghost is legit.

He's so aggressive on the PP calling for the puck - I love it. Zero hesitation to pull the trigger but unpredictable enough that when he doesn't it opens up a lot of other passing lanes/options.
I think he'll rely more on PP points that the others mentioned in this thread though.
