The Florida Marlins announced Barry Bonds as their new hitting coach. Look forward to watching Giancarlo Stanton's head triple in size.

Kind of a controversial move since Barry's history but I like it. Was always a big fan of Bonds and glad to see him back in the game in some shape or form. He was the reason I started watching baseball. Hope it works out because steroids aside he is one of the smartest hitters ever.

You're right steroids don't help you hit the ball but they do help you hit the ball harder and give you more power.

Ok, so he admits that he not knowingly took them. You forgot to quote the rest of the opening:

Yeah when he was with Pittsburgh he did everything. Steal bases but knock in the runs. Do you think he will ever get in the Hall of Fame?

I’d be curious what he can actually bring to a coaches role. Not the best players can be coaches.

Nope. I doubt any of those "known" steroid types (Palmeiro, McGwire, etc) get in.

no they don't. Steroids allow you to increase work capacity and ability to recover from training faster.
