I'd bank on minny winning more games than columbus this season, sure they brought in saad but the defense just isnt there yet especially compared to the team dubnyk has in front of him
Sup folks.
Goalies have kind of a skewed value in this league because your goalie can post up a 26/27 game and and lose the game and still wind up with negative fantasy points. Basically it all rides on getting the W and possibly a shutout. you get 0.1 points for each save but lose 0.8 points for any goal against, get -2 for a loss and +5 for a win...7 for a SO.
Is this a kind of buy-low sell-high you would be looking to do? Or do you think Dubnyk trumps Bobrovsky in this kind of setup.

DUB > BOB in your set up (if I understand it correctly). Even if Bob was playing up to expected standards, I still think Dub has a chance to be Vezina worthy this year when all is said and done.
This would be buying High on BOB IMO.
Personally, I think Minnesota is the best team in the West.
I'm holding Dubnyk here... who is capable of starting 70 and winning 40-45.
I didn't understand the crazy Bob/CBJ hype going into this season.
I thought he was overdrafted in every one-year league I was in.
Maybe I missed the news-article that everybody else read?!?
I'd take Dubnyk over Bobrovsky. I wouldn't do the trade
Agree with the consensus I prefer Dubnyk over Bob in almost all formats, including this one. I like Minnesota to be sneaky good and near the top of the standings this year.

Oh Bondon, I love you man, but you have some zany ideas when it comes to goaltending.
Minnesota plays a very sound defensive system and has a deep group of quality blueliners. Columbus, not so much.
Hold DD.
You have to try really hard to be this stupid. Take my word for it. lol. Thanks folks! Systems not letting me spread the love around like I was hoping, I'll get around to repping all of you.
I like the idea of buying low on Bobrovsky but this is not buying low.

Ya, this is exactly what I was thinking! Many are staying away from Bob, which is the perfect time to snatch him, but to use an asset that is equal or greater to Bob's value when he is at his best is not the type of deal I'd be looking to do here.
Do you dress more than 1 goalie? Do you have anything to pry Bob out of his current owner's hands other than Dubnyk or a player of his caliber?

Just when we all advise for Dubnyk... tonight Kuemper gets a start.
D'oh.
j/k.
Obviously, still Dubnyk!
