Another Kessel Trade Thread

I feel that I am in win now mode, I have one of the stronger teams over the past couple years but havent been able to dethrone the champ (2nd last year).

I have been actively trying to get Kessel since he was traded to Pittsburgh but couldn't pull off an offseason trade. Now that the draft is over, I am trying again.

History:
In those early attempts over the offseason, a) Getz + RyJo for Kessel and b) Kopitar + Ryjo for Kessel offers were both turned down as he didn't want to lose another keeper to the draft but was open to talking post draft.


I guess I'm asking if it is worth doing if the cost becomes:
a) Kopitar + Getzlaf...
b) Kopitar + RyJo...
c) Getzlaf + Ryjo...

...then what kind of "+" can I ask for with Kessel? or is losing 2 top assets like that too steep a price to pay?

Feel free to dissect both teams' assets and see if theres something else I should be looking at trade wise?

I would try Kucherov + one of Bennett or Dano for Kessel. Not sure he will do that, but seems to be a fair offer and will give you a better chance to win.

In my opinion, Getzlaf/Kopitar+Johansen is an over payment. Don't set your team back just to get one player. Kessel will have some big years, but so will Johansen and Getzlaf is still a supreme playmaker on arguably the best team in the league. Points in vs points out would be lopsided in the Kessel owner's favour.

I just got Kessel for Tyler Johnson - straight across. If you can make a deal like that, or one player+picks then make it happen. Otherwise, i'd hold tight.

Those seem like overpayments to me, I get it if it is pre-keeper selection and you want to upgrade spots (although Kessel and Getz are pretty close as it is with your cats) but post-draft the 2nd part of that package should be smaller

Do not give up any combination of these without getting a solid + in return. Now you ask what a solid + would be in return... I would suggest somewhere in the Lehtera, Kesler range.
