Hard to tell.
It's actually a 3-for-3 trade... with a lot of pieces not accounted for.
You roster 24players for $82m.
Or... 8 groups of 3 players... each group at $10.25m cap space.
You got: F-Giroux ($8.25m), F-Scrub ($1m), D-Scrub ($1m).
They got: F-Eberle ($6.00m), F-Scrub ($2.5m:Y1, $1m:SOON), , D-H.Lindholm ($1.75m:Y1, $4m:SOON).
Hampus Lindholm will probably be a $4m D-man next year.
So his $1.75m is only value for this year...
And... if Eberle is actually injured this year... then it's obviously a WIN for you this season.
Next season, he should probably dump Lindholm at that amount.
Making the trade:
You Got: Giroux ($8.25m), Scrub-F ($1m), Scrub-D ($1m)
He Got: Eberle ($6.00m), Decent-F ($3.25m), Scrub-D ($1m)
So... next year & beyond... it'll be about what he can do with that extra cash he has for his complimentary F.
This is a big unknown for us (forum members).
Overall - in cap leagues, I prefer to roster & cycle "bargain-bin" players in/out as they are hot.
This means that one should get SUPERSTARS and supplement them with SCRUBS.
I call this a HIGH-LOW strategy.
In shortest summary:
Yes, I give you a thumbs up... as I prefer you getting the better player, even at higher tag.
