Networking in Vancouver suburbs

Everyone is more comfortable making referrals to people that they know and have something in common with, right? Well, I\'ve been trying for ages to figure out a good way of networking and making connections with young(ish) business people without joining the Rotary Club, and I think I\'ve found it...HOCKEY POOLIES!

I am a 31-year old lawyer in the Tri-Cities area of Greater Vancouver, and am wondering if there are any businesspeople or professionals of a similar demographic and location who might also want to make some more local connections. I\'m not speaking of a formal thing, just talkin\' hockey and swapping business cards over beer & nachos once in a while.

Anyone with interest, post your email addy along with your age, the nature of your business/profession, and location. I\'ll check in on the thread in a few days to see if there\'s enough interest to get some sort of gathering together.

Don\'t know if I\'d call myself a business person per se, but I do own my own business with a friend. I\'m a graphic designer/writer, 33, in the Langley area. I\'d be interested.

That\'s a great idea. I\'m a professional writer who just moved to Boston from Montreal, and I don\'t really know anyone in the area.
