i read about this earlier, and i think the worst loss ever was something like 94-0, and i believe it was south korea trouncing taiwan in another women\'s ice hockey game.

taiwan also lost games by about 30 or 40 goals to italy and i believe it was slovakia in the same tourny

There have been some lopsided losses ... but as a Leaf Fan one in particular comes to mind.....
Leafs up 5-0 against St Louis.... 5 Mins togo.
Leasf loss 6-5 in OT with a blast from Pronger on the PP. Dagger to the hearts of leaf fans.

Very close. Thailand lost to South Korea 92-0 to South Korea at the 1998 Asia-Oceania U18 Championship.

Seriously, why would one team completely obliterate another like that? What\'s the point? Brutal.

This is why there should be a rule in women\'s hockey, that if a team is up by 10 goals or more, every subsequent 5 goals, they (the entire team) have to take off a piece of equipment.

That way there would be less incentive for the team that is winning to score, unless they happen to all be exhibitionists. If that is the case, then I\'d likely buy season\'s tickets.

At least then watching women\'s hockey would be entertaining. Rollerderby on ice would be a much better olympic sport than the soon to be banished women\'s ice hockey.

I hear what you\'re saying doulos, and can\'t stand it when teams run up the score beyond reason. 82 goals in 60 minutes, that\'s like a goal every 45 seconds. Seems pretty ruthless one would think.

The only argument I can think of is that goal differential came into play in the tourney standings, and it was an olympic qualifying tourney as well.

Still hard to fathom though.............
