Smile What's too early for Eich

In a new 14 or 16 team startup Cap League with lets say G,A,Pt,SOG,STP,H,Blks,+\-, Sho, W, Sv%,GAA

Is taking Eichel top 10-15 too much of a reach? Gotta figure McD goes top 5/6. Having the cheap salary for 3 years doesn't hurt either.

Yeah, I agree with the above. I'd say you'll see him go around #15-20 in most keeper/dynasty leagues and possibly earlier if its a cap league.

You will see people taking him in the top 5, i just saw a new league where he went 2nd overall.

I agree that he should be a late first / early second round pick at best and i wouldn't take him earlier, but someone will.

Talent from the latest draft is always a little bit overhyped. We see that every year.

Personally, I love the idea of taking Eichel early in a dynasty.
It gives a GM a streamlined direction. They know they won't win the coming year.
So there whole draft will be young players, rising goalies.

I'm not taking Eichel before the first 12 players.

I've made the list before... but there's at least that many studs I'd want in a dynasty before him (Sid/McD/OV/JT/Stamkos/Seguin/Benn/Giroux = top 8. P.Kane/Karlsson/Subban/Tarasenko/Malkin, possible next 5. But then the "steady" guys come in... Toews, Pavelski, N.Backstrom, Getzlaf, Perry, MaxPac, Ry-Jo - and I think this is where Eichel fits into a dynasty... so yes... around 15th... 12-20 range.)
