Who should I drop?

Hi,

See my pool in signature (my team was Boston...). I have to drop 8. Made multiple trade last season, the most important beeing:

Traded: 1st round 2015, Eberle, Nichushkin & Bishop
For: 4th round 2015, Getzlaf, Pearson & Niemi

So I don't have a 1st round for this year. I have a monster offence! Need a real #1 G, depth F and beside Hedman my D is OK at best.

Thinking of keeping:
F : Getzlaf, Ovi, Backstrom, Seguin, Tavares, MacKinnon, Strome, Kreider, O'Reilly & Yakupov
D: Hedman & Burns
lost faith in Skinner
Strategy: pick a real #1 goal with my 2nd round
Salary Cap: with Getzlaf and Ovi on the payroll, I have limited cap space.
Options: we allow summer trades between GMs (players, draft picks)
Note: we have a draft lotery, so the guy who finished last only have a 25% shot at McDavid.

I have lost some faith in Skinner too.
I would try to package some guys like Skinner, Niemi, Kronwall & O'Reilly (whose future in Colorado is uncertain) to get the G you want and maybe a depth dman.

F: Getzlaf, Backstrom, Ovechkin, Yakupov, Tavares, Seguin, O'Reilly, Kreider, Skinner, Strome, MacKinnon & Pearson
D: Hedman, Kronwall, Burns, Schultz & Muzzin
G: Niemi & Bernier

In a 9-team league... Niemi/Bernier are not keeper-worthy... especially if you can only start 1G!!!
You can re-draft them easily, I think.

DET is a " ? " for me... so I'm not sure with Kronwall (though he is the #1 D, specialy on PP). As for the drop... I should've said 7 drop considering I'm dropping Boston (... last year was just sad :P).

I see you consider O'Reilly a "must drop", may I ask why? He's more of a two-way guy (6M$/year is expensive for 60 pts...)

With St-Louis likely out of NYR, I saw Kreider (at 2.4M$) a nice cheap 60 pts next year. Your thoughts?

So I should trade Skinner, O'Reilly & Kreider to solidify my D (and maybe a 1st round in this year draft)?

Easy drops: Niemi, Bernier, Muzzin, Schultz, Pearson, O'Reilly.

The final drop is between Skinner and Kronwall. In a points-only league, I might actually keep Skinner here. Depends on how other managers in your league value D-men compared to forwards.

Agree with the consensus 6 to drop, but noticed you only have 2 free agent drop/adds all season? If so, I'd do my best to steer clear of "risky, high upside" guys as keepers (especially since you have Yaks already). Honestly you're so loaded up front that I'd personally keep it "safer" (in terms of floor). Neither Skinner nor Kronner are cheap - but I'd personally go Kronwall here as your final keeper.

Even if you picked boring 40-50 point guys to fill our your F, I'm not sure anyone else can match your firepower up front.

Since goalies will be plentiful in a 9-team start 1 (as Peng noted), use your last slot to thicken your D. Kronner doesn't have to post 50 to have value to your team here. You know your league but I'm not even sure I'd use your 2nd on a goalie...

Now IF you can swing a deal for a 1st using Skinner/Kreider/ROR - I'd be all over that in your position.
