I\'d take the Nash one, fairly confident.
Hopefully for the Spezza, I could squeeze out a little more. You certainly wouldn\'t be the loser, but that guy is getting real solid assets for Spezza.
Can you grab a pick too?
Points only keeper (13 teams)
We\'re coming up on our draft, in which I have 1st overall pick. We dress 2C, 2LW, 2RW, 3D and 1G plus a bench of 5, and a farm of 5. We have 7 keepers in addition to out farm.
I loaded up my farm last year so i\'d have some trading chips... I already have decent C but need LW help and wouldn\'t mind upgrading Ribeiro as i\'m not sure last year wasn\'t an anomaly.
My keepers are
C- Malkin and Ribeiro
LW - Kariya (i need help)
RW - Hemsky and Huselius
D - Markov, Jovo and Burns (coming off the farm)
G - Ward (coming off the farm)
Farm is Ward, Burns, Toews, OSullivan, Hudler
Anyways, not too much is available at #1 overall that i\'m excited about, so i\'m considering trading it. I need help at LW the most and i\'ve been offered Nash for #1 overall. The best players available would be Sakic, Roy, Stamkos and the rest of this years draft class. No high end LW.
That one I am pretty much sold on... would be a different story if I had room for Roy without having to trade... fairly inactive league.
The other offer is for Spezza... i\'m considering giving Toews and Ribeiro for Spezza. Cashing in on Ribeiro\'s big year and the hype around Toews. Assuming all 3 stay healthy, who wins that one?
Anyways... would you take either of those deals? Both? None?
Thanks in advance

could you get Nash for Ribs and take Stamkos?
Trade Ribeiro for a top LW, you have great centers on the farm!

No i have tried to get him to bite on Ribeiro rather than #1 overall... because I would gladly fill that spot with Roy.
#1 is the only way I can get Nash. The laternative is picking up a guy like Rolston, Smyth or Prospal - far from ideal...

The problem is that only one guy in our pool needs centres... and with Roy, Sakic and Stamkos available, its kind of a buyers market. I\'d love to trade Ribeiro for a top LW, but not able to find anywhere close to fair value

I have to stick with the general consensus here. Nash deal is a no brainer, but giving up Toews and Ribeiro for Spezza is over the top. Toews will take another big step in becoming the dominant young player he is. He would have likely won the Calder had he not been injured, so I think you\'re giving up too much to get a deal there.

Do you fill your farm from the regular draft or do you have an auxillary draft to do that?
I am wondering why you aren\'t going after a Tier 1 goalie in this trading process. Am I missing something about your league that is abnormal?
Yes we fill our farm through the same draft - so if you want a top farm talent you have to sacrific the current roster.
As for top goalies, not sure why but they never go early, and none of the top ones are out there. Best I can grab is DiPietro or Bryzgalov, and both will be there in the 3rd round.

yeah in that case the Nash trade is probably a good move for you, as is picking up Bryz
