Frans Nielsen vs Chris Tanev

30 team dynasty league that uses NHL AAV and NHL salary cap each season. We dress a full NHL lineup each week (4 lines of forwards (positions matter), 6 dmen and 1 goalie). Rosters can be up to 25 players on the pro team and unlimited farm teams for any player under 25 years of age. Skater stats are:

G, A, +/-, Hits, Takeaways, Blocked Shots, PP TOI, PK TOI, FO%

I have been offered Frans Nielsen (final year at $2.75M) for Chris Tanev (5 years at $4.45M), should I accept the offer?

C: Couture (LW), Dubinsky (LW), Anisimov, Hanzal
LW: Vanek (RW), Byfuglien (RW,D), Bouma, Glendening
RW: Carter, Burns (D) Burmistrov (if he comes back)
D: Kronwall, Lindholm, Brodin, Braun, Tanev, Folin, Petrovic

I also have Beauchemin and Jackman who I would keep if they sign contract extensions before hitting the free agency market.

Assuming Couture or Dubinsky keeps LW eligibility, meaning you'd actually have room for Nielsen, I'd take this deal. You'll win the deal in 2015-2016, and even if you end up losing long-term, it's only Tanev who isn't a huge loss anyway.

Agree, I'd make the deal. Tanev is strong in PK TOI and blocked shots, but he will never stand out offensively. If you move Byfuglien and Burns back to D, then you'll have room for two more forwards.
