The Arizona Coyotes' key return in their trade deadline liquidation sale has been made a healthy scratch Tuesday by his junior club, the Quebec Remparts.

Anthony Duclair has drawn the ire of Remparts coach Philippe Boucher for a lack of effort, according to the Montreal Journal.

ya...I'd put up less of an effort too if I knew instead of playing in New York it would be Arizona.

He went from being on the NHL roster in one of most cosmopolitan cities on the planet, all the way back to Junior. He's probably pretty bummed...Hopefully he comes to his senses.

Quebec knows they are going to the Mem Cup as the host city so I wonder if they are just coasting right now.

I don't get to watch a lot of their games other than what Sportsnet shows but the past few games I've seen, the whole team seems like it needs a benching, with the exception of their goalies. The last game I saw on Sportsnet was when they played Blainville-Boisbriand and they kept hanging Fucale out to dry. Dont get me wrong, BB is the 2nd best team in the Q and are very strong, but Quebec really couldn't keep up with them and it wasn't just Duclair who looked lackadaisical. The only skaters that looked like they cared was Matt Murphy on D and the Timashov kid (draft eligible this year, kid looks good but not ranked very high).

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, SBennett

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

Given that assessment, I wonder if this isn't a case of the coach singling out the best player to send a message of accountability to everyone.

That being said, I'm not gaga over Duclair as a prospect anyhow. He proved he has NHL talent, which goes a long way for a team that's decided to tear it down but that doesn't guarantee he's a top-six guy.

Very well could be just that. Hard to say if it will work or not but I would say a message has been sent and if anyone should respond, it should be Duclair. It is probably pretty embarrasing for him to get healthy scratched knowing full well he should be the best player on that team.

Hate to hear this kind of stuff. Was thinking of taking a flyer on Duclair as one of my rookie protections - we need two and I only have one on my roster (not either team in my sig). Kevin Hayes, Zadorov, Brett Ritchie and Ryan Murphy are a few other options (roto G,A,Pts,DPts,+/-,PiM). Is Duclair my guy?
