OV for Kane + a 3rd?

League in signature below, I'm in 9th out of 10, obviously no chance of winning.

Would you trade OV for P Kane and a 2015 3rd rnder?

OV is hot right now, but not sure if Kane is better long term..

This trade gives me a high pick in next years draft, plus solidifies me to pick Eichel next year.

Any thoughts?

You've got to get more if you're taking on an injured guys IMO. I'm guessing the Kane owner is competing?
Ovy for Kane is close (youth being the big difference), so if you're biting the bullet and taking the injured guy to help somebody win, I'd push for a better pick or upgrade elsewhere also.

Pretty close in points only and Kane is younger...but as others have said I'd push for a little more.

Yeah if you are taking on a guy done for the season and you need to win the trade not break even. Our top 6 make it and the 6th place team has Patty, I just propped Gaudreau and Ekblad for Kane. He won't find that great of a deal anywhere since most of the bottom six is void of talent besides two teams who don't trade, I'm 11/12 so I have no problem taking on Patty.

Listened to everyones advice, and even took OV out of the picture. The trade ended up being

Tyler Johnson, Faulk, 2015 6th, 2016 3rd
for
Patrick Kane, Suter, Scheifele, 2015 3rd, 2016 1st

How did I make out? I like Johnson alot, but figured Kane is a sure bet going forward.

I'd stick with Ovi. I agree with your assessment long term, but frankly Kane doesn't play full seasons. Give me a meh year for Ovi at 75 points over 65 points in 60 games from Kane, I guess is what I'm saying.
