Replacing Vatanen...
Vatanen has been put on the IR by the Ducks and now I'm hearing rumors that it may be long-term. With Hall and Andersen already on IR, I can't afford a 3rd and will be forced to drop him. We only start two defensemen so I only plan on carrying two. Who of these should I replace Vatanen with...
Wideman - stats wise probably the best option.
Phaneuf - Still on IR and on a sinking ship in TOR. Not sure why I added him other than he gets PP1 time and adds a ton of PIMS.
Hamonic - Red hot lately but will probably slow down shortly and doesn't shoot all that much.
Lindholm - Could take Vatanen's place on PP1 in ANA.
Stralman - Putting together a decent season on the best offensive team. Getting PP2 time.

I think Wideman is the choice here -- underrated d-man IMO. Been putting up consistent points all season.
I didn't look up his other cats, but Calgary ain't bad, so I'm guessing +/- can't be tough low?
Lindholm is an interesting guy to watch for sure though.
The fact that all of these are available makes me think you ought to stream a bit -- look at the week-by-week schedule.

Wideman is at -2 which is respectable.
Lindholm has some upside but I have a feeling ANA will just throw a 4th forward and have Fowler be the lone defensemen on PP1.

Wideman would be my choice. He's been putting up good numbers all year, especially for a #3 D (after Gio & Brodie).

Wideman would be my first choice, and Stralman second.
At this point in the season it's usually wiser to go with the most consistent option possible.
When Wideman is having a good year, he's good for the whole year.
