I would take Streit, Boychuk, Vatanen or Brodie over Goligoski. In that order.

Pop quiz - name the one defenseman who has scored 40+ points in each of the past five full seasons? Answer - Mark Streit. And with Timonen removed from the equation, Streit probably does even better this season than last. But Vatanen isn't far behind - he looks outstanding so far and could post 40+ as well.

Pop Quiz indeed.... who would you remove for Streit?

Goligoski looks the weak link, at the moment.

I'd try to trade Carlson. He's much better in real hockey than he is in fantasy hockey, especially since your league doesn't count blocked shots. No way he outpoints Streit, yet he probably commands a higher value in your league because of his team and recognition.

That is not a bad option either, league is brutal for trading though unfortunately. I'm still pondering grabbing Streit, just not sure i'm ready to drop Goligoski yet....haha...

    Decisions ...decisions...decisions...

Edit: Also, hopefully McDonagh picks it up!

After watching the playoffs I thought McDonagh was ready up his offensive output this season. But he might just turn out to be a guy like Doughty who somehow finds a way to be most productive in the playoffs, teasing fantasy owners in the process.

I have a similar question so I'll post it here as well. Pretty happy with my team this year, but I feel there is some room to play with my defense.

I have Buff, Carlson, Edler, Gudas and Gardiner. But Fowler, Vatanen and Streit are all available on the wire.

Categories are multi cat, ie G, A, +/-, PIM, SOG, HIT, BLKS, and it is a daily league with 4 D slots.

Usually in this league I even only ran with 4 D, but with the addition of blocked shots this year, I am carrying more.

I've been avoiding making a change until say 5 games are done, but I was never very set on Gardiner and Edler (both play tonight).

I've been considering dropping one or both of Edler and Gardiner for Streit and Fowler/Vatanen. Streit because he is better, and one of the Anaheim guys because with their schedule, there should be few conflicts with bench players.

    Thoughts?
