Surprisingly, today's press conference didn't really tell us what we didn't already know. It's unlikely Kimmo Timonen will play in the league again. But do you think he'll pull of a comeback this season?
He was likely headed for retirement after this season and this pretty much guarantees he'll bring little over the course of the season, at best.
It's not as big a loss as most would have you think though, fantasy or otherwise. I'm a Flyers fan that can see every game and he's lost a step finally. Not a number one (or pseudo number one, if that's how you saw him) anymore and lost a step in terms of speed. Also can't QB a PP like he could before as he got caught flat-footed at the blue-line a ton last year. It's beyond me why Streit didn't get first PP time last season, but that's for another topic (though I presume it was just out of respect to Timonen since the Flyers aren't contenders). Was still an overall good D but needed some sheltering compared to what he used to.
