That is good because Mantha potentially making the Wings out of junior was only taking away valuable spotlight from John Gaudreau who really isn't getting talked about enough.
For those who missed it, that is sarcasm.

#RedWings GM Ken Holland said Anthony Mantha will miss 6-8 weeks with fractured right tibia.
Bad news for the kid as there was a lot of talk about him challenging for a spot out of camp. In my mind this further limits his chances of seeing NHL time this season.

First Kapanen and now Mantha... seems like those that were reaching for a new overnight sensation are getting their dreams shattered before they even start!

Dodged a bullet.
Was almost ready to take a flyer on him in the last round of a deep, deep one-year league last week.
I own him in two keepers, and can now comfortably leave him on my farms knowing that he probably doesnt see NHL time this year.

Esh. Not a great trend right now.
Anyone hoping that he would get serious NHL time this year wasn't following the state of Detroit's system. Mantha is getting nine games max this year.
ericdaoust: I have both Mantha and Kapanen on my team Never expected to use either of them this year, so they'll be stashed on my farm.
GO WINGS!
Ya probably wishful thinking but it this article (http://www.thescore.com/news/578784) with the quotes from Draper that made me think there was a possibility he could buck the trend. Interestingly enough the last guy that jumped straight to the NHL from Junior was Jiri Fischer back in 1999.
Holland has been saying the exact same thing all summer. "He'll get a shot in camp."
But that's Holland's usual talk. Mantha's participation in development camp and now the Traverse City tournament shows that he's got insane talent, but he still lacks a lot of pro habits. Who knows, Detroit might get hit by an absurd amount of injuries again and Mantha might play half the year, but it's quite unlikely.
GO WINGS!
Have to agree with Dakkster, though it's still too bad. Was really looking forward to seeing Mantha out there at the start of the season for a few games.
