Austin, I've been reading the prospect ramblings for quite a while. I really enjoy them.
I know the writers for the regular ramblings will occasionally link to the prospect ramblings. That's a great idea and an easy way to get the word out.
Those ramblings - regular and prospect - are my morning newspaper.

When has the last prospect rambling been?
Ross and I took vacations at the same time, so way too long ago. Here is a new one, and they will be much more regular now: http://prospects.dobbersports.com/Pr...august-15-2014

Just finished reading the Ramblings. Summer is tough, buit good job with them
Of particular interestis the All Three Zones Project that you linked to. I don't have a clue how anyone can have time to actually do that by themselves. He has some other great stuff on that site too. Nice!
Congrats on the new job!
In the prospects ramblings, I click on the Edmonton Oilers link and it listed the "Top25 under25".. No Yakupov?? Huh??
Zorro says "vote for Dobber"
Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
Thanks Doulos! I tried to take advantage of the lack of news to talk about other interesting things.
I agree, and I admire his dedication. I think he will be another NHL hire at some point, for sure. I feel bad about it though, in a way, because all of that tracking will be done automatically in just a couple of seasons.
And Zorro, he is ranked third but the author didn't tag the article correctly.
Here it is. Basically it talks about how he was very unlucky and poorly utilized last season, and that his Oilers-leading 17 goals two years ago is just as predictive as his terrible past year. I hope that is true, but I have reservations about him.
This season is very important to him, another bad year and he could begin losing the opportunities afforded to him as a former first overall pick on a terrible team. A good year will turn the narrative around, with a maturing professional on the road to stardom after overcoming adversity.
He had incredibly good luck two seasons ago, and it was equally bad last season, so it is tough to tell his true talent level.
If you can, he is an excellent buy-low because there is legitimate uncertainty. This is the cheapest a former first overall pick has been since... Johnson? Even if you overpay for him, you would be underpaying for his potential.
On the other hand, this could be the last season he has significant value if things get worse.
