Hmmm...if he made the offer, I would push for more just to see how serious he is. Word it so that you aren't committed, but say something like: "I like the offer as a starter, but we are talking about Crosby, the #1 player in the NHL. Who else you got?"
That being said, this is a pretty good deal, but I think you should push to make sure it is his best offer.
Bottleneckers (12/16 in 2022)
16 team, points only. G: 2-W, 4-SO.
Top 9F, 4D & 1G . Keep 15, Max 23

D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
G: Vasilevskiy
Crosby 8.7
Kessel 8
Perry 8.6
I figure that the 1st round pick (1st overall) will be the determining factor. But who do I take.
Bishop $2.3m
Nyquist $0.9m
Both have great cap hits.
I'm stuck!!

Very solid offer. Kessel Perry and maybe Bishop for Sid is a very good return in a large keeper like yours. Your sig is made for goal scorers too. Bishop should be top 8 in the league in wins. I like it, just don't know if I'd pull the trigger. Sid is well, Sid. Once he's gone............but I see it as a great offer. 18.9M cap hit is not that debilitating.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
I'd pass. In a 7 team league, everybody has a loaded team, having the best player in the world gives you an edge others don't have. It's a fair offer though.

Just 1 question cones to mind...WHY do you want to move Crosby at all?
I would sit back and hold Crosby with those salaries. Making your cap tighter and I like your team as is. In a small league like this, I want the top end talent, and if he wants Crosby, I would demand a third asset at the level of Kessel and Perry for a moderate extra back his way.
I would keep Sidney. He is signed at 8.7 for the next 10 years. In a VERY short time, that contract is going to be a steal as other contracts escalate. He has comparable cap hits to Kessel and Perry now in your league. In a 7 team league with 20 players on each team, you have about 20 percent of the NHL players on your rosters, and each team in your league only has 129 percent of the cap of real NHL teams. With 80 percent of the players in the NHL not on your rosters, you need to be very selective with who you have on your team, because that cap will get burned quickly. In your league, I imagine that managing your cap would be huge.
Kane and Toews and Subban now all with 10.5, 10.5 and 9.0 and you have the best player in the world at 8.7 for 10 more years? Keep him...
