Went with Gaborik. He's my vote to win this whole thing!
Cam Ward
Marian Gaborik
This is one of the two semi-final battles in the Cage Match tournament to crown fantasy hockey's most frustrating player. This battle has the winner of the Goalie bracket (Cam Ward) facing the winner of the Rest of the Worst bracket (Marian Gaborik). Be sure to vote here, and in the other semi-final.

MG, he's burned me more.
Gaborik. Ward is a couple years removed from his last "really good" season, which he sprinkles in here and there to keep that borderline top 10 goalie ranking he always seems to carry for whatever reason. That ranking is finally going away now, but it took a complete shitshow of a season to get there.
Gaborik is viewed pretty poorly at this point as well, but it's hard to argue with a guy who could either score 40 goals or play 40 games in any given year. That playoff run he just had with the Kings is going to end up disappointing A LOT of people next season.

Voted Gaborik... he was a great winger at one point!
Don't think I've ever owned either but from an outsiders perspective Gabby seems more frustrating. He had another crappy year this year and I won't believe LA is a fit until I see him do it during the regular season (LA is a different beast in the playoffs).

Woohoo... I'm in the majority with Gaborik.
Ward has been abysmal, consistently, for a few years now.
Gabby is the hot girl in the orchestral band... such a tease... even she doesn't know how well she'll perform.
Gaborik for sure. Staying with the Ward has been too crappy for a while to deem him as frustrating, he just hasn't been fantasy top tier material for a while.
Maybe if Semin or Eric Staal made it here vs Ward (or even Justin Faulk, Jeff Skinner or Tlusty for that matter) I would have hesitated... oh ya they're all on the same team lol. Carolina is just not good as a group
As reasoning for not voting Ward in the last round, he's no longer expected to be a top goalie so my level of frustration would be low if I owned him. Gaborik, I, as well as many others, think that Gaborik still has an elite season left in him so we hope that he won't get hurt. But as often is the case, he gets hurt, he struggles, then a few weeks of brilliance, rinse, repeat...
As a person who foolishly hoped year after year Ward would turn things around, I had no other option than to vote for him in this poll

Cam Ward for me. He simply isn't as good as everyone seems to think he is.

I don't think this is the case anymore. He was overrated for quite long due to his Stanley Cup ring. But by now, I think he is more of a buy low option than someone you bank on. Different picture with Gaborik, in particular because of his playoff showing, which will generate hope and inflate expectations leading to frustation.
Its funny, because I was thinking the same thing when I selected Ward here, but then I remembered why I took Letang in the other group. It had less to do with Green and more to do with Letang's injuries. I am a Letang owner and he is tough to own. I know better than to own Green because too many expect too much from him.
Here, I find Gaborik isn't as hard to own and has shown he can still perform well compared to Ward.
