I can understand Ottawa not giving him a one-way, but he's still really close to cracking that lineup regardless of his contract. I think he's probably leaving a little too soon but hey if he can make gobs of money in Russia than all the power to him.

I thought he would have a spot on the opening roster again.
Oh well. I'm not a big fan of the KHL as a development league and improving his NA game, but the Sens still retain his rights. As a man, good for Da Costa on making some decent money in the meantime.

Now here I was thinking like an idiot that 2014-15 was going to be a BIG year for Da Costa's development after a true breakout pro season in Binghamton this year ... Let's just hope this is all positioning and negotiating from Da Costa.

Sadly, I doubt it. He did indeed have a great season and will say again that I thought he would make the big club yet again. Without centers Spezza and Da Costa now, you would have to think that the Sens will look to grab a centre back in the Spezza deal or via FA.Originally Posted by mounD
