Decided to watch The Hunger Games the other night after reading the book a few months ago. As I felt after reading the book, I'm not sure what the fuss is all about. Overrated.
Good this thread is back alive.
One of my faves.
My wife & I are knocking out some of our summer shows that just got released... but then it's back to the movies... and oddly, I actually find these reviews on par with my taste.
Yeah Movie Thread!!!

Wolf of Wall St - 7/10
12 Years a Slave - 8/10
White House Down - 3/10
American Hustle - 6.5/10
Her - 7/10
I don't watch a lot of movies but my wife and I watched The Internship on the weekend. She enjoys her comedies.
I didn't mind the movie but it was your standard comedy and slightly predictable.
All in all, it wasnt a complete waste of my time.

Watched 2 movies last week
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - 6/10 - It was interesting, but rather strange. I had higher expectations.
Transcendence - - 7/10 - The movie itself was not super good, but the subject matter was fascinating. I really think the idea of the Singularity is a real concern for the future, and this was a good take on it.
I don't watch movies very often but we did recently watch Dallas Buyer's Club. Meh! Didn't move the needle for me. 7.5 out of 10
Now this is the wrong thread but everyone should be watching Halt and Catch Fire. That is fantastic!

I watched The Usual Suspect last week. Gave it a 8/10. Could have been higher, but I heard the ending before on an other TV show so it kinda ruined the punch for me. Still a good movie though.

Here are my last 5:
- Source Code: 8.5/10 --> Got this one in the bargain bin at my local video store a while back. A witty and different thriller with a little sci-fi touch.
- Oculus: 7/10 --> Was expecting a ''cheap thrills'' scary movie but it actually had a couple of good twists. It's no ''The Conjuring'' though.
- Divergent: 7.5/10 --> Hunger games meets Harry Potter meets X-Men meets Twilight
- Neighbors: 7.5/10 --> Funny flick, but avoid watching the previews; they show most of the good scenes
- X-Men Days of Future Past: 8.5/10 --> Not as much action as I was expecting but great story and solid acting. Superb visuals as well! A classic Marvel movie IMO.

I'm ape over the new ape movie coming out. Will see it next week. Will be my first movie in a long time. Happy viewing all.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
* The Amazing Spider-Man (2.8 out of 5) - Not into comic books or superheroes at all, but thought it was better than the ones with Tobey I-Have-No-Expression-On-My-Face Maguire.
* Chernobyl Diaries (2.5 out of 5) - Predictable. Basically the same plot from The Hills Have Eyes.
* American Reunion (3 out of 5) - Better than I thought it'd be. Better than American Wedding because they actually brought back the whole cast for this one. Made me wish I was back in high school.
* The International (3.5 out of 5) - Clever plot. Clive Owen sure likes those dark scripts...
* The A-Team (1 out of 5) - Awful. For anyone who remembers the tv series, this doesn't do it justice. Anyone recall when Liam Neeson used to choose worthwhile films and not just mindless, stupid ones?
