I'd personally rank them as follows, based solely on upside/opportunity:
1. Horvat
2. Rattie
.

.
3. Spooner
4. Pulock
5. Clendening
I think theres a pretty large gap between the first two and the bottom three.
In a H2H league counting pretty much every scoring category, how would you rank these 5 players, based on upside, long-term potential & keeper status:
Trying to decide which of the 5 to include in a trade (where I get back Hartnell & a 2nd Rd pick). I'm new to this league this summer. Any feedback welcome!
Scoring system is as follows:
Skaters:
(G) Goals - 5
(A) Assists - 5
(+/-) Plus Minus - 2
(PIM) Penalty Minutes - .25
(FOW) Face- offs Won - .10
(HT) Hat Tricks - 15
(GHHT) Gordie Howe Hat Tricks - 10
(SOG) Shots On Goal - .25
(PPPTS) Power Play Points - 2.5
(SHPTS) Short Handed Points - 5
(GWG) Game Winning Goals - 5
(OTG) Over Time Goals - 5
(PSG) Penalty Shot Goals - 5
(DEFPTS) Defenseman Points - 2.5 (added to the normal point values when a Defensive player score a goal or an assist.)

Guy's I'd be looking to keep... Pulock #1, then Rattie/Horvat, and not attached to Spooner or Clendening. I think Pulock is gonna be a stud D.
With the extra scoring points for D-men, Pulock is a no brainer in this one. He also loves to hit and block shots. Reminds me A LOT of Drew Doughty to be honest. Kid has a killer slap shot too.
Horvat is second, Rattie 3rd, Clendening 4th, Spooner 5th.
Maya and pete, I see you both own Pulock.. Seems like you guys are hoping he becomes a stud!! HaHa..
Personally I'd roll with Horvat and then Rattie out of these 5 prospects..

Clendening. No respect.
I'd probably rank them
Horvat
Clendening
Pulock
Rattie
Spooner
Clendening- 21 and NHL ready
Pulock- good upside and may challenge with a spot on NYI this fall
Spooner- he's ready and Bruins will need some entry level contracts to help relieve cap issues
Rattie- only Hitch could hold back his production for a few years
Horvat- could have put him ahead of Rattie. May get a look this fall with Van.

I'd rank Horvat first. He's a good all around contributor with some good offensive upside.
I'd rank Pulock second. Like petegreg said, with the extra points for Dman, he's a stud in this kind of format if he hits his topside. And he doesn't have too much competition in the Isles organization for a PP shooter role. He's very close to Horvat for me, if not equal to him.
Then Rattie. Won't contribute much but points, and I question when he'll ever make the Blues roster, but it's hard to deny that all the guy does is score. He put up 31 goals, good for 5th in the AHL, in his rookie season. He's good at it, and if he gets the chance, he'll be a nice goal contributor in the big leagues.
Then Clendening/Spooner are kind of add ons for me.
So:
Horvat
Pulock
Rattie
Clendening
Spooner

Considering the scoring setup for your league:
Clendening - Is NHL ready now and is an offensive Dman. He is going to score well in your league and is probably the closest on this list to regular NHL duty.
Pulock - Another offensive Dman but is still a couple years away. Still, with your league setup both of these Dmen should be in front of the forwards you listed.
Horvat - VAN paid a hefty price to get him. They will give him plenty of opportunities to succeed.
Spooner - With Krejci and Bergeron embedded in the top 6 down the middle, not sure where Spooner fits in here. BOS also seems happy with Soderberg centering the 3rd line. Where does that leave Spooner? Another year in the AHL hoping for an injury.
Rattie - Similar problem to Spooner. Dmitry Jaskin is ahead of him on the pecking order and even he can't land a full time gig in STL. Tons of offensive abilities but no opportunities right now.
My top 3 were easy. You can flip-flop Spooner and Rattie as far as rankings for me go.

I'd argue that Clendening doesn't have much opportunity at this time either, which pains me to say because he's a very impressive player. He could see bottom pair minutes this year but i'm not banking on it. They also play Sharp on the point for PP so that takes away more opportunity for Clendening. The Rundblad move was also a bit strange so hopefully that doesn't mess with his chances. I agree he's NHL ready and he's a very good offensive D-man, I just don't know if he makes it to the big show before Pulock.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who recognizes the favouritism to the D-men though
Without getting into the peripheral stats, I'd peg Horvat as a 60 point player tops. 60 x 5 = 300. Even if Pulock gets 40 points, 40 x 7.5 = 300.

He was already getting top AHL time and he's already proved he deserves a call up. 59 points in 74 games, led the Ice Hogs in scoring, 213 SOG. The issue is I don't think Chicago wants to only play him in a bottom 6 role, as that's something thats better suited to a guy like Johns or Roszival. Clendeining is way more suited for a top 4 role and could arguably perform better in Leddy's role than Leddy can (I think they will use him as a trade chip for their 2C position). The issue lies in that CHI, including Rundblad, has 7 defencemen under contract for next season. Keith, Seabrook, Leddy, Hjalmarsson, Oduya, Roszival, Rundblad. There just isn't a spot to jump into yet for Clendening unless a move is made. But if a top 4 spot opens up, he's way above Johns and TVR in the pecking order.
I'm sorry but there's no way those two are ahead of Clendening on the depth chart in Chicago when long term is being considered. Clendening is being groomed as a top pairing option for the future in Chicago. They are playing it smart with him and not rushing him into a spot he doesnt need to be.
Pulock has a grand total of 3 professional hockey games to his name. I realize this is the Islanders and are known for rushing their prospects to the show, but I dont see him as a viable fantasy NHL option for a couple years at best. Dont get me wrong, I like his offensive upside, but he still has some work to do before we see him suiting up for the Islanders on a regular basis. I wouldnt be surprised to see Griffin Reinhart up with the Islanders before we see Pulock.

It's weird how Clendenning gets looked over so often. Hopefully it is the same way in my draft this year, he's still available!
