I got
Perry+Karlsson+2nd round pick
for
Thornton+Bieksa+3rd round pick
at the time it didn't look as skewed because Karlsson hadn't yet even played in the NHL and Thornton was still a stud, sure worked out for me in the long run though
I traded Filip Forsberg for Patrice Bergeron last summer.
In a goal heavy league, I traded Pietrangelo for Perry + 1st round pick (Mantha).
Couple years ago I traded Ryan Kesler and Linus Omark for Anze Kopitar.

Though I have been lucky to pull many, this year, trading Boedker for a crappy Steve Mason back in October saved my season, as Rinne and Ward were my #2 and #3 and they went down hard. Mason basically won me my title. Who knew.
The week before, I traded Charlie Coyle for Marek Zidlicky. I liked that one for this year too, as Ehrhoff turned in a below average performance and Timonen was hurt/inconsistent.

My best move this year wasn't a trade it was claiming Nyqvist as a free agent after a guy dumped in in November ( after he held him for 3 years but his contract was expiring in our league) Waited the 2 weeks till he became free agent - now I own him on minimum contract and will be able to extend him 4 more years.

In my sim league I made 4 really good deals in the past year:
1 - My Little for Varlamov
2 - My Kesler for Duchene
3 - My Conacher for Johansen
4 - My McNabb for Nyquist
Really set me up for a few years, its a deep keeper (no contracts, but we do have a salary cap).

About a year ago i traded the 3rd overall pick 2013 (Nichushkin) 12th Overall 2013 (Horvat) + the 12th overall 2014 (yet to be determined) for the first overall pick 2013 (MacKinnon) + John Gibson. I went on to trade Lupul, Bickell, Setoguchi, and a pick that turned out to be T. Barrie for the 2nd overall 2013 (Drouin) and a third round pick 2013 (F.Andersen).
A couple days earlier i traded E. Staal and Doughty for Tavares and Zidlicky
I got Ladd for Wolski + Ryder too....

My two best trades took place this year for the team and league in my sig:
1. At the beginning of the year, I traded my Backstrom(C) and Ward for his Quick and Eberle. Quick gave me a second legit goalie I was desperate for, and Eberle was included in a future deal that brought me Burns and Hartnell. Loved the deal at the time, even happier with it now after the season Ward had.
2. A month into the season, I traded my D. Brown and H. Sedin for Giroux and Hall. Definitely the best trade I've pulled, and was pretty much the ultimate buy-low sell high (Giroux was at his worst, Hall was hurt, and the Sedins were ppg and Brown was not yet a shell of his former self). Hall is still on my team, and I flipped Giroux for Karlsson.

The day after Stamkos was injured in November, dealt Craig Anderson and Alex Chiasson for Ben Bishop. That move has worked out pretty well for me. Sometime before the lockout shortened season last year began, I dealt my Joe Morrow and Dmitri Orlov for Victor Hedman. Another one I'm a big fan of, dealt Jeff Skinner, JT Miller and a 2nd round pick for David Backes(league counts PIMs, Hits, BS) and a 1st round pick which I used to select Valeri Nichushkin.
Years ago I traded a 2nd round pick to a guy for David Krejci right before he broke out with Boston...I always remember one lol
3 years ago I sent Filatov, Pitkanen and a 1st (which I later reacquired) and a 3rd (became Joe Morrow) for St. Louis and a 2nd (which I used on Nyquist)

In the 2012 draft, I traded my second round pick (used on J. Faulk) for what was supposed to be a late first round pick, but the lottery gods turned it into 1st overall (MacKinnon). I got a 5th rounder as well, but who cares about that, lol. I suppose, technically, this would be the LUCKIEST trade I've made....
The best trade I have made so far was two combined trades with the same GM that saw me give up Mikael Granlund and Brent Seabrook for Semin, Nyquist, Enstrom, Bishop and a 1st round pick (Barkov).
I made a couple in the last few days that started me down the rebuild path that I hope 3 years from now I can say were the best trades I ever made:
I traded Perry, Kesler and my 2nd round pick in 2015 for Huberdeau (prospect), Yakupov (prospect) and 2 first round picks in 2014 (both are top 6 with the highest odds of being 1 and 2). I then trade M. Smith and my 2nd round pick in 2014 for another first rounder in 2014 (7th overall). Finally I traded Marleau, Morrow (prospect) and Jaskin (prospect) for Lehner (prospect) and Coyle (prospect).
I think this puts me in a real good position as I still have my first round pick in 2015 and the first round pick from the last place team so I sould have a good shot and McDavid or Eichel next year. Freeing up the keeper spots also allowed me to keep Maatta and Gelinas who I scooped up off waivers during the year. I guess time will tell.
