Drop Russell for Barrie

Need to free up a little cap, Barrie gives me a better option on my bench than an injured Russell, but can Barrie finish the year better than he started? I'd love to free up the cap on this trade to also drop Panik for Zucc. De Haan is interesting too. Info in sig. Any insight is appreciated.

Easy choice here. Russell is a great D for the Flames; not so much fantasy-wise though. He played well for a given stretch this year as he was pretty much the only reliable D-Man on an injury plagued team. He is a strong contributor for leagues that count blocked shots. However, now that Gio is back and all, I would not bank on his upside in your format.

Barrie on the other hand was in Roy's doghouse for the first couple of months. He is still very raw, but I think his output will be superior to Russell's going forward.

Yeah Barrie is cooking right now and I believe EJ just came up lame, so Barrie should be relied on even more for a while.
