I'd bet on one.
Just saw the interview with him after the game...he was legitimately remorseful and they noted he has no prior history.
Watching the hit today I winced at it but I didn't see any overt malice or ill intent in it. That said, the primary point of contact WAS the head of Backes, and he did go into the boards head first. All in all it seems a regrettable injury all around but I can't see how he doesn't get some kind of suspension.
I say 2 games, what do you guys think?
I agree with 2 games. No more than 2 games.
He has no suspension history previously. Also looking at the hit, it was not pretty but at the same time Backes was sorta at an odd angle and kinda downward. Seabrook did hit the head and he did shift himself to hit at a higher angle, suggesting he was going high on purpose? Probably a little of both situations, some of Seabrook trying to hit high and some of it was Backes at a lower level as he was turning.
I say he gets two. He's not a dirty player, and I doubt he really meant to but it was just representative of the Hawks game today as a whole.

Kind of reminded me of Rome's hit in the SCF a few years back... of course Seabrook is a 'star' so we know it will be less than the 4 Rome got.
I'd guess 2, but would not be surprised by less. I'd be absolutely stunned if it was more.

One or two because backes got hurt. I have never understood how someone getting hurt has anything to do with it, shouldn't it be the play?
Full disclosure, I haven't seen the hit. But I think Seabrook gets zero games, just by reading this thread. No priors, seems remorseful, semi-star player, etc.

Here is the hit:
TBH he came at him from the front, the hit would have been shoulder to shoulder had Backes been standing properly, and his skate was close enough to being on the ice for my tastes. My verdict - no suspension.

ugh don't remind me of that Rome hit. What a joke that call was for so many games...mind you if Vancouver was relying on Aaron Rome to win the cup they were in trouble anyway.
Seabrook should get 2 even if it is his first time. The league has to keep hitting players over the head about hitting other players in the head.
that's blaming the victim for the hit, that never factors into the decision as well it shouldn't
I don't disagree that he might get nothing for it given his body of work (clean player) and lack of previous history...plus I'm sure he'll be convincing in his review...but I can just as easily see a game or two
2 games.
I think 2 is the right number

1 game suspension. How is this not suspendable? Shoulder to head.
Doesn't matter. Chicago won't be St. Louis with or without Seabrook.
