Nyquist will be a regular 70+ guy in my opinion, Voracek a regular 60-70. I'd go with Nyquist.
Team 1 in sig who would you keep?
My brain says Voracek but my heart is saying Nyquist. What's your breakdown on each guy?

Proven over potential here. Both should be just 60 points at most
id go with voracek. hes shown what he can do already. their upside is similar imo.

Both are sweet. I trust Voracek. Both are very similiar.
I like voracek as he has given a bigger sample size for being able to produce. At the same time, I do have a funny feeling about Nyquist and a possible higher ceiling. Still, safer choice is voracek IMO.
Voracek has had one great year, this year he is on pace for 60. Nyquist looks good as a rookie but he is 24, I don't think his ceiling is a lot higher than what we are seeing. I think voracek can be a 70 point guy actually but I don't nyquist will be.
i also think you're assuming that I'm saying 60 points is something to be ashamed of
Such a tough one. All indications are that both players will fill similar categories and be in the 70ish point area. I probably like Nyquists game a bit more, but Voracek will be playing alongside Giroux for the next 3-4 years. If I had to make a call today it would be Nyquist, seems to have a slightly higher ceiling. Probably a coin flip though.
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.

Nyquist minutes will be eaten up when the big guys come back. He can’t score when on the bench. How many of these guys hurt will step in front of Nyquist next year (Just copied their injury list, I know there’s defencemen on it)

I thought Nyquist was just on a 60 point pace but it's more like 65 so I would project him higher actually, my bad. 2014olympicgold bring up good points that the Wings stars will all come back and eat up his time in the short-term
I like Nyquist here actually. Ev makes a really good point about him already being 24 so his upside isn't way higher than he is showing but heck he is on pace for 37 goals and that is even considering he was only getting about 12min a night for his first 15-20 games in Detroit. I see them both with similar bottom's but Nyquist as having the higher upside. I don't see him losing much time when everyone get's back as in my eye's he is by far the best out of the 25 and under crew in Detrrroit and has shown chemistry with Zetterberg already. He is pretty responsible in his own end from the limited viewing I have of him as well.

(slang, idiomatic) 1. A person who habitually corrects or criticizes the language usage of others, especially in situations where it is unnecessary, e.g. an informal conversation.
Notes: This behavior is almost always found in people with very low I.Q's, whom have a very low sense of self worth. Impotence is also commonly linked to Grammar Nazi's.
I don't see Nyquist losing any opportunities once the injured players return... If anything, he should be paired up with Datsyuk and/or Zetterberg and continue his progression in the NHL over the course of this season and beyond. He is the next big thing in Detroit (70 point player IMO), a team that has a proven reputation on slowly developing late draftees into stars; especially European ones. All signs point to GN fitting that profile and blossoming into a great NHL player!
Guys like Alfie and Bertuzzi, heck even Franzen, will be giving up their minutes come next year. I can't foresee any scenario in which Nyquist doesn't have top-6 minutes from now until he is 37!
Keep in mind, Nyquist is producing with sub par linemates (at the moment) and has a better ppg ratio than Voracek who plays with elite players.

Voracek plays with one elite player...Nyquist plays with Franzen who was on fire lately.
Nyquist is a good player but his value should not be determined by the Wings past given they haven't developed a star forward in a long, long time.
I'm actually quite pleasantly surprised by some of these responses. I honestly thought it would be much more lop sided in Voracek's favour. I like them both a lot, and have them both in my pts only keeper in sig, but I think at this point I still value Voracek a bit higher. I already consider Voracek a 60+ pt guy and although Nyquist could match or surpass that in close calls like this I usually go with the more proven commodity.
