Give me Malkin, more talented overall.. I don't really know what else to say it's a wash to anyone else -- you can argue your case for either player. I like Malkin's situation a lot better in PIT than Stammer in Tampa.

Either one is just as valuable. You obviously do not go wrong with either choice. I think it comes down to mostly preference. I personally would rather have Stamkos but that's just one guy's opinion.
The ago old thread revisited, I take shreck.
Pretty much all of your categories are geared towards scoring so Malkin's higher upside gives him an advantage here.
This is a tough one. For me there's four main factors
1. Points - Malkin per 82 gp (but Stamkos likely to play more games)
2. Goals - Stamkos
3. Assists - Malkin
4. Durability - Stamkos; other than his leg break he hasn't missed a single game to injury in his career.
I think because you have a Points category Malkin has the edge. But Stamkos' durability, and the fact that goals are harder to find than assists, make it a close call.

I sigh now when I see a post on Stamkos vs Malkin, because both sides are so entrenched in their stance that it's essentially pointless. Personally, I would take Stamkos only because I would want the durable option; but if you are a risk & reward type of guy, then you can feel free to take a chance on Malkin. But, for me, I like having my guy healthy and having peace of mind. Also, goals are far harder to come by so I give added weight to goals.
Malkin is my choice here and the margin has grown to me with the departure of MSL. Now I will leave this thread to watch all the respected people on this form call each other idiots and ******s!! Popcorn popping

Noun
(slang, idiomatic) 1. A person who habitually corrects or criticizes the language usage of others, especially in situations where it is unnecessary, e.g. an informal conversation.
Notes: This behavior is almost always found in people with very low I.Q's, whom have a very low sense of self worth. Impotence is also commonly linked to Grammar Nazi's.
Pop pop, I know.. Fun stuff, I trust myself to fill schrecks spot in those two to three weeks he is out. Only four or five players I'd have over him. I consider Tavares and karlsson in the mix. And it is a mix, all depends on scoring and cats.
Three things about MSL leaving TB:
1. When Stamkos got 60 goals, he wasn't on St Louis' line for the vast majority of the year. He played with Malone and Purcell and guys like that.
2. Before he was traded, most knew MSL was going to retire in under 4 years. Were you guys not expecting that? If MSL was the straw the stirred Stammers drink, then why wouldn't you devalue him already knowing the "rough" future ahead?
3. Jonathan Drouin
Again, I still recommend Malkin for the OP, but I don't think MSL's departure should have as big an impact on Stammer as some are thinking. Years back I thought Malkin and Crosby were due for a slight regression when Gonchar left Pittsburgh given how superb chemistry he had with them, but the superstars prevailed. Such will be the case with Stamkos - he'll be fine.

I voted for Stamkos because of Malkin's injury concerns.
And as for the loss of St. Louis, I know some people think this makes Stamkos now an 85-point guy instead of a 95-point guy. But in the last five years, Malkin has hit 85 points once (last year would have been 69 points in 65 games thanks to his injures). So a consistent 85-point guy would still have been a better option in the last five years than Malkin. Sad, but true.

Based on pure talent alone Malkin, but if I had the choice between the 2 in a H2H format I'd take Stammer. To lose your #1 during the playoffs could be devastating and given Malkin's injured past I'd feel more comfortable with Stammer. However, in a roto setup I'll take a chance on Malkin and fill in from the ww when needed.

I'd take stammer here for 2 reasons:
1. When dealing with star (super stars here) that are fairly equal, I'd rather take the safer guy (in this case injury wise) and take my risks in other areas. If we were talking prospects, I'd take the higher upside and more risky option.
2. Stammer is the guy in TB. As good as Malkin is, Did is the guy in Pitt. I'd always feel comfortable with the "guy" as opposed to the player that either isn't the "guy" or the guy that has to split being the guy. I guess its a bad comparison, but do you take the clear cut starter (Lundy maf , Rask etc) or a guy that can be a tandem guy ? I know it's a little different but my point again is with stammer you slot him in and know what you're getting (outside of his freak leg injury). Malkin is more of a wild card and the while clearly a great option, I think stammer is ever so slightly better because of this
