In a points only format I like Murphy but with Faulk might make up for it with +/- and PIM's
Faulk is more established.
But is Ryan Murphy better to hold onto?
Murphy just finished putting up 18 points in 16 games at the AHL level so he has me intrigued.
Thoughts?

faulk has been good and does a lot out there on the ice but murphy has a way higher upside imo. he's more of a boom or bust guy. wicked awsome in junior and has put up points in the ahl.

I like to make a calculated gamble from time to time; therefore I would go with Mr. Murphy here. His upside is just to good to let go over a safer player like Faulk.

Just to chime in here for clarification: What exactly is his upside? Do you expect him to make a splash next year?
I like Murray's upside for points, but Faulk will carry better peripherals and possibly be more consistent. I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed with Faulk's season, but he's been derailed by injuries and he's still young.
I think Faulk has the makings of a stud two-way defenseman in the mold of Boyle. Murphy is more boom-or-bust with high-end offensive potential like Visnovsky. All of that said, I bailed on Faulk this year because the way the Canes handle their young D scares me to death - I want to parts of it.

Faulk should turn into a multi cat stud, but I don't think he will ever produce a ton of points. Murphy has tons of talent, that may never translate into the NHL.

I like Faulk. His game hasn't really translated into being a fantasy stud YET, but I think his breakout is coming.
