Lehner's not the #1.
The Lehner is the #1.

If he wins again on Saturday, do you really think he's going to the bench? The author of Ottawa's first 3-game winning streak of the season rides pine behind the guy with a 3.14 GAA and a SV% almost 30 points lower? Andy's not making so much money that he's not affordable as a backup.
I think the job will be open and the hot hand gets it. Last night the GM said Lehner is ready to be the starter, but didnt want to be too effusive in his praise because he has to negotiate a new contract with him in the offseason.
I personally like Lehner in the net. I was happy to see him in net when I went to the NYI game a week ago!
I think this is a good time and let Anderson 'rest' and see what Lehner can do with some time as the #1.

I agree.
Lehner is a beast, I have his jersey and not an Anderson one. Lehner is the best goalie prospect out there and ready for a starting role…but that doesn't mean he is the new #1 in Ottawa yet in my opinion.
When Anderson is healthy and ready to go (not just dressed), he will take back the net. It will be back to the normal 80/20, or 75/25 split in favour of Anderson.
I'm not saying Anderson has been better than Lehner, not at all. Lehner has been the best in the league numbers-wise, Anderson has been brutal and let in deflating goals very early in a number of games. But none of that matters. Anderson is still the starter. There is different dynamics at work here.
Yup, I do.

Yup. It's crazy. Alfie tried to tell every single Sens fan that hockey is just a business yet they still think that Lehner is going to get the remaining 64 games of the regular season and the final 16 games en route to sweeping the playoffs and winning the Cup. All this because Anderson got hurt and Lehner is what we know he is. What they fail to understand in my opinion and going back to what Alfie tried to teach us, is that there is no chance Lehner is the starter this season going into his RFA year. They will keep him in the shadows for as long as they can. Lehner is already making too much of an impression most likely. Double edged sword.
No biggle, maybe I'm wrong and that's fine, but I will fall on that sword I just mentioned and love every time Anderson starts over Lehner, which will be a lot in my opinion.
Anyway, I'm switching topics, that little Anderson/Lehner rant is done with.
Time for the Sens to call up Spezza's winger for the next 10 years. You know who, I thought he would make the team but I was wrong.
Mark Stone.
Give him time. Tonight is his first game in the AHL season with Binghamton, other than opening night. Haha.
But I was being partly serious. I was having tons of trouble finding a spot for him in my preseason lineup predictions because I just figured Ryan would take the spot on Spezza's right side. Now that Turris has become the best center in the league and formed Hull and Oates chemistry with Ryan, Spezza is left without a guy like Stone. Stone is the guy the Sens have wanted with Spezza since he was drafted. They think the game the same and have been penciled in with each other since I was a baby.
