Default Opening on roster...who do I grab?

I have an opening on my points-only keeper league roster. Looking to stay young so I have included a list of youngsters available (see below). Want someone who will put some points up now, but ultimately has a decent ceiling for the future. My choices are:

    Joel Armia
    A. Loktionov
    Tomas Tatar
    Z. Girgensons
    Brock Nelson
    Mark Arcobello
    Matt Nieto
    Anthony Mantha
    Andre Burakovsky
    Tyler Johnson

    Bottleneckers (12/16 in 2022)
    16 team, points only. G: 2-W, 4-SO.
    Top 9F, 4D & 1G . Keep 15, Max 23
F: J. Robertson, J. Hughes, Tavares, Lafreniere, Cozens, Newhook, Teravainen, Domi, R. Strome, Laine, Rossi, Raymond, Holtz, Perfetti
    D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
    G: Vasilevskiy

Joel Armia would be my choice but he won't get you any points now

So, given Armia's current injury (broken hand), you still think he has the highest ceiling and will produce the most in the long run. Interesting!

I would probably gamble on Tatar, Arcobello or Nelson.

Without the injury Armia would be my choice.

    Go with Tatar.

His team won the Calder Cup and he was the AHL playoff MVP.

It is only a matter of time before he takes a full-time spot on the Redwings.

He will be putting up points as soon as he's given a chance to shine.

Yes I probably would. I see his ceiling as much higher then the others. Outside of him Tatar would be my choice

Thanks for all the posts. As it was, I had Armia at the top of my list too, but his current status on the IR had me worried I'd pick him up only to have him not play in the NHL this year. Tatar is also a reasonable choice, but will he break into the Red Wings lineup before Armia gets back???

I'd go Tatar. This guy has good skill and should stick once he shows what he can do.

If you have time Anthony Mantha is a great long term project. I could see him being a leading scorer for the wings one day. Burakovsky is another interesting boom bust but both are seasons away from NHL time

Tatar and Nelson are safe picks. Nelson is in the NHL and producing stats this season although not really in a scoring role

If you don't have a farm team then I think it has to be Nelson who I think is the only guy on your list actually playing

    Cool

Based on your criteria it looks like Tyler Johnson is the best candidate. He'll probably be around the 40-45pt range this year and is a former pt/gm producer in the AHL and had 115pts his last year of junior so his upside is around the 60-65+ range. The Bolts organization is very high on his compete/skill level. Tatar is someone I really like as well but in typical Wings fashion he will be brought along slowly and you won't see much production this year.
