Not saying he would go to Edmonton.
Just saying that there are few options if he wants out of Buffalo. Most teams are already set with a solid starter. The main exceptions are Florida, Tampa, Edmonton, Calgary. The slight exceptions are Philly and maybe Washington who have struggled lately (but they seem content with Holtby/Neuvirth)
I also think the Dubnyk hate is a bit harsh right now BUT I also think he might not ever become a top 15 goalie in Edmonton. The fans here have given him too much shit and no praise.
Here's a thought, Dubnyk+Yakupov for Lehner+Zibanejad.
Who says no?

Ottawa for sure. If they are already over-budget this year why would they take on so much in salary even if it would make them a better team this year. Plus, I think they are happy with where their franchise is in terms of stability through the system. Yakupov might be an upgrade on Zibanejad but it's not necessarily one they need and more importantly they have a great system of succession set up where Anderson will give way to Lehner probably by next season but maybe even this season if Anderson doesn't start playing better himself.
As much as I think Dubnyk does deserve some praise for his past play (certainly not for his play this season) he has to be viewed as a nothing asset to most teams. He is expensive for a talent level that would make him a backup on most teams and is a UFA at the end of the season. And he isn't playing well. Why would anyone take on that problem?
If you look at this deal as Yakupov for Lehner and Zibanejad it would never happen. Two good young assets for one is a bad deal even if Yakupov is the best player in the deal, which he arguably is not.
Looks like another day in the office for the Oilers. 3 goals on 3 shots wow.
On the other hand this is great for Holtby owners... exactly the kind of confidence booster this team needed. I expect them to sweep the rest of their home games this week.
Once the trade deadline approaches, and most of Miller's salary has been paid, here are a few teams that could potentially take a stab at him (if he continues to play really well): Colarado, Minnesota, St. Louis, NYI and Pittsburgh.
I think Florida, Edmonton and Calgary are irrelevant, as I don't seem any of them being play off contenders.
Injuries could also change things.
The only thing I'd say with somewhat confidently is that Buffalo will not trade Miller purely to save a few dollars. They'll either get something to help them down the road or they'll sit on him.
Same with Vanek.
so, Bryzgalov released from the Wranglers...wonder if that's because he is about to sign with an NHL team...please don't be the Oilers.

better game all around tonight against the Islanders
would have liked to see a win, though. Some stupid penalties and they were considerably outshot, but Dubnyk played well and most of the key players played well...Hall, RNH, Eberle, Perron, Schultz...even Yakupov looked decent and actually backchecked a bit
I call it a momentum booster (I hope)

A couple moments of pressure, but overall they didn't push the game offensively, they didn't take care of things defensively, and they sucked on special teams. It was pretty much textbook failure once again.
I'm expecting 2 goals from Yakupov against the Sens next game.
