    Default Rylan Schwartz

Brother of Jaden, looking pretty good so far in the Young Stars tournament. Wearing the Captain's patch as well.

Sharks signed him out of college this past year, led the NCAA in scoring.

Good size, nice hands, good two way player with some scoring touch as well.

    Keep an eye on him.

Good call. While I wouldn't take any stock in a player's performance in these prospect games, Schwartz is a player I've had on my radar since San Jose signed him as a free agent. Talk about a player with zero press though...nobody is talking about him right now. Talent clearly runs in the Schwartz family, though. Stranger things have happened than if Rylan became fantasy relevant out of the blue.

    Excellent point.

I don't put much stock into these games either but the talent is there, he was only okay in the first game of the tournament yesterday but today against Winnipeg he was fantastic.

I'll be honest, this is the first I even heard of him as well. Seems like the Sharks really like him and I can see why.

Very brief profile by Pronman here: http://www.hockeyprospectus.com/arti...articleid=1575

Very brief, noncommittal profile I should say.

Yeah...some of Pronman's analysis is spot on, while other times I'm not sure where he pulled his info from. A good source to get a second opinion on a player though. There are clearly some teams he's a lot more familiar with then others...which is understandable.

The kid led the entire NCAA in scoring last year. He's scoring pretty well in the prospects tourney. He was a very solid signing for the Sharks and I'm keeping a close eye on him for you all.

For sure. To be fair, this particular profile was part of his Top 10 series, and Schwartz fell outside of San Jose's Top 10. The five honourable mentions generally receive very brief writeups, which is what happened in this case.
