Giroux easily IMO. I don't know of anyone that would turn this down, there's too much to like here.

Yakupov will not be THE guy in Edmonton, that would be Hall. Giroux is THE guy for Philly and far more proven than Yakupov.

Have you pulled the trigger yet?

It's a very goal heavy format. Even if Giroux is the way way better player, he probably won't be as valuable in this format ever again. In goal heavy formats, a great strategy is to trade away the big names that are more of passers like Griroux,Backstrom, etc to gain goal scorers that aren't normally as good as elite passers like Giroux and Backstrom in other formats and in the NHL.

I would take Giroux and not even think twice about it.

Giroux has averaged 25G/58A for the last 3 seasons = 108 pts in this format

Yakupov would need to be a 35G/40A = 110 pts player to beat that

which of those players do you think is more likely to hit those numbers for the next 2-3 years? next 3-5 years? Giroux in my opinion.

Also just some food for thought: based on Dobbers projections in this year's guide Giroux will get 114 pts this season, in your scoring setup, while Yakupov will get 80 pts.

Yak doesn't necessarily need 35-40 because hat tricks are 4 pts each and Yak already has more career hat tricks in the regular season than Giroux. And putting up 70+ points should not be tough for Yak.

Only time will tell, but if you have paid any attention to all the posters (except 1) here, it's a choice that I would have made without hesitation any day and every day, for the foreseeable future.

If you need to know what Giroux is capable of, just see some re-runs of the PHI/PIT play-off series from the 2011-12 season, and how he skated circles around some of the best players in the league, if you haven't seen it already. This guy is elite and can produce on his own. Yakupov, is rated very highly, but is much lower on the depth chart in EDM, and till such time that he breaks out of Hall's and Eberle's and RNH's shadows, he will stay behind them in the depth chart, and not be able to produce elite level stats.
