certainly seems suspicious, but I guess it would need to be evaluated in the context of other trades between the supposed colluding GMs...one it's own it looks like a lopsided trade but those happen in every league, what makes you think it is more than that?

hmmm... you are also in a keep 5 league. maybe he really wanted getzlaf, and his kane trade wasn't enough, so he stacked his bubble boys onto trade to get what he wanted

Is the league the keep 5 in your signature block? If so, depending on his other keepers, maybe he likes Getzlaf over these other guys he would have to drop!

I dont think this is as bad as you think it is. In your format Getzlaf is the best player in the deal, and in a limited keeper dumping your extras(Hartnell/Weber) with the main piece is a devious way to push a deal through.

It really depends on the keepers on both teams. But from what I can see, the team getting Getzlaf has better keepers and wanted to get a certain player.

The team getting the trio has weaker keepers and is trying to use a coveted player to upgrade his keepers. He may have had crap as his bottom 2-3 keepers, so he loses Getzlaf but gets to replace Getz with Kane and the bottom two with Hartnell and Weber.

In a limited keeper these offseason deals can look really one sided if keeper selections havent been made just yet.

I could be wrong, but it looks that way to me. I am in a similiar type keeper, and I have seen deals like this.

Yes, it is the keep 5 league. It's a father and son. And yes, the son who is recieving Getzlaf is claiming that he really wanted it and the trade market is soft. This is year #4, and the league is relatively balanced.

The father tanked his team last year and now with these 3 keepers, along with Daniel Sedin and Spezza, he's right back in it, with a ton of unspent draft picks from the tanking @ last season's deadline.

So yes, if this trade didn't happen at least 2 of those guys would drop. Maybe it isn't that bad ....

If you honestly believe that, why stay in the league? Life is too short and there are plenty of options out there...
