What are they trying to accomplish by holding out? It seems other countries would have to be opposed to the compensation system as well in order to actually have some ground to stand on.
$200,000 for a Malkin type is cheap but if their people really want to play in the NHL they will find a way... and of course the US courts won\'t cooperate anyway.
Seems they might as well go along with the system and at least get something out of it and maybe work for more changes as they move forward together.
