    Default Cubs closer

"Cubs manager Dale Sveum finally committed to Kevin Gregg as the team's closer Wednesday, and he expects Gregg to keep the role when Kyuji Fujikawa (forearm) comes off the disabled list.

"Gregg is our closer," Sveum said, per the Chicago Daily Herald.

Fujikawa began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa Sunday, tossing a scoreless inning. He walked one and struck out two. He will make his second rehab appearance Wednesday, but this time for Double-A"

I expect this wil last about 1 week. Kevin Gregg has a tendency to save 5 or 6 games and then implode hard. He is not good.

Man I dont think I'd touch any of the Cubs closers if I had a choice. I own Marmol in the Dobber league and as much as I want to drop him for some reason they always seem to go back to him for saves. Kevin Gregg would be just as risky to own if you ask me.

    Thats one screwed up bullpen.

I wouldn't own Gregg or Marmol anywhere, but I have faith in a healthy Fujikawa.

Then again...I still own Axford in 1 league HE CAN COME BACK, YOU'LL SEE! :P

Very little pressure on Kevin Gregg. He will hold the job until trade deadline and rack up ood number of saves

I agree. The guy has looked stellar so far. Just blows your mind, how someone almost retired last year can come back and have this kind of impact.

That's why you never spend a buck on closers!
