I stopped reading at Ovechkin.
League is H2H each stat is worth one point. It counts pretty much everything including hits, blocked shots and total faceoffs won, aside from the more standard categories.
Who wins this deal? (it's actually the result of a couple trades combined into 1):
To New Jersey:
Alex Ovechkin
Ryan O'Reilly
Jacob Trouba
Martin Frk
Mike Kostka
Daniel Cleary
Jeff Halpern
Aaron Asham
1st EDM 2013 (20-25 range)
1st NSH 2013 (20-25 range)
2nd CHI 2013 (high 2nd)
2nd CHI 2014 (likely to be a mid round 2nd)
To Chicago:
James van Riemsdyk
Brayden Schenn
Jeff Skinner
Ryane Clowe
Tomas Kopecky
Ryan Strome
Jhonas Enroth
Allen York
JG Pageau
1st TOR 2013 (#8 overall)
1st DAL 2014 (likely to be a top 10 pick)
1st DAL 2015 (should be a top 10 or top 15)
3rd DAL 2015
3rd NJD 2015
If you put in a few words explaining why you like one side or another it would be appreciated. A trade like this doesn't happen every day

I stopped reading at Ovechkin.
I like the Ovie side a lot better because the best players going back are Skinner, JVR and Schenn who aren't even close.
Getting one of the big 4 and not having to give a top 20 player is a big win.

I didn't think it was gonna be this bad. I thought JvR, Skinner and Schenn all have near PPG potential they should likely hit in the next couple years or so... or at least 1 or 2 of them should.
I'd say they could all potentially hit 70-75 pts in their best year, but that's hoping they hit it. Ovie is a proven bonafide superstar who puts up those numbers in his worst years.
I would never trade one of the big 4 - Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos or Ovie unless I got one of them back or worst case scenario 2 of some big name guys like Tavares, Giroux, Kane, etc.

The way I see it is:

Jacob Trouba

I took out minor details or picks that kinda cancelled each other out.
Needless to say, it's Ovechkin and Trouba for JVR, B Schenn, Skinner, Strome, a potential starter in Enroth and some great picks.
Call me crazy, but I think the side with the most young guys wins this deal.
Ovechkin will get lets say 100 pts next year and on.
Those top 3 young guns can all hit 70 in the not too distant future. Add Strome to that, a starting goalie and 2 great picks in a very deep 2013 draft class... I think you have a very good deal on your hands.
Any salary caps or roster limitations that are not listed that may come into play?

I don't think JVR or B.Schenn will ever hit 70pts in a season.
I like Skinner to fall between 70-80pts... but never 80pts.
Ovechkin side (I think I've seen this one posted already) for me.
That said, this could be a win-win for both teams.
If the previous-Ovechkin owner was starved for depth, then getting all these players may be a great option. And if the new-Ovechkin owner had plenty of depth but no top end stardom, then this is a great trade for him.
Side-vs-side... Ovechkin is better side.
But it could still very well be a win-win.
Ovie side for me. who is the starting goalie your talking about? Enroth?
I agree O'Reilly is a factor though I think he will sign for big bucks after next season and I got plenty of depth at C (Schenn, Strome, N. Palmieri, Soderberg, Wingels, Gomez, Fiddler, Briere). And I can also address needs through the draft where Monahan or Lindholm or could easily fall to my lap.
Here is my current roster (no bonafide superstars but lots of youth with plenty of upside):
JvR - Schenn - Skinner
N. Palmieri - Strome - Clowe
Prust - Shore - Kopecky
Martin - Wingels - Briere
Yandle - Boychuk
Franson - Carkner
Petrovic - Larsson
Holtby
Bench:
Jhonas Enroth
Scott Gomez
RJ Umberger
Benoit Pouliot
Bryan Bickell
Can you post the other guy's roster as well? I think I would have kept Ovi/O'Reily looking at that lineup.
I feel violated that everyone is talking about my team and it's trades. I'm New Jersey.

I'm going to second this. I see JVR as a guy who will be a space creator and not likely to really put up huge numbers. He's got a great shot and can be a 30 goal guy but I don't see him hitting 70. Maybe once in his career and maybe once he hits 40 goals, but I doubt it. He's a classic power forward, and they very rarely will hit those kinds of numbers. It takes a special power forward to hit those leves. Guys like Ovechkin (who is the best of the best in my mind), Nash and Perry. JVR is just not at level with those guys. And Perry and Nash are going to have a hard enough time hitting those levels (Nash particularily).
