I would strongly agree.
Kane for Giroux straight up?
Who wins? - I'd say Giroux.
I would strongly agree.
It's close.
I've always like P.Kane for low 80s.
I like Giroux for low 80s too.
I think they are very close.
I do believe that Giroux's 2011-2012 season, last year with Jagr, will go down as his best season of his career. They were a perfect match.
And Pat Kane only had a really down season last year because Chicago tried him at center and he is at his offensive-best on the wing (where he doesn't have to focus so much on the full-ice and defensive matching).
It's very, very close.
Very.
whats the format and scoring? Any positional requirements? hard to answer without some context
it's almost a wash I think...personally I like what the Hawks are doing with their team a helluva lot better than what the Flyers are doing. Bottom line is that they're both ppg players who can go +/- 10 on that number depending on the season and I see the Hawks having much more success in the near future than Philly, I'd lean towards Kane but only slightly in pts-only
13 Team Keeper, Weekly lineups, Dress 6 forwards, 4 Defense, 2 Goalies.
Points only, 1 for goal, 1 assist, 2 goalie win, 2 for goalie shutout
F:Patrick Kane, Jamie Benn, Chris Kunitz, Alexander Semin, James Neal, Jakob Voracek, Scott Hartnell, Wayne Simmonds
D: Alex Goligoski, Nicholas Kronwall, Fedor Tyutin, James Wisniewski, Andre Markov
Goalies: Crawford, Bryzgalov, Reimer
I agree - Collecting flyers isn't much of a strategy.. I am however dropping Simmonds and Hartnell. I thought having Giroux and Voracek playing together, if that continues, is a good tandem.
In most points-only leagues... if Yahoo (and others) fix their positions... then:
As value goes:
80pts LW > 80pt RW > 80pt C
Left wing could (could!) be the thinnest/toughest position to stock good players in next year IF (big IF) fantasy website buckle down and set a player's position to their main position.
C/LW Datsyuk: He's really a C
C/LW Zetterberg: He's really a C
LW/RW Neal: He's really a RW
LW/RW Kovalchuk: Really a RW
LW/RW Ovechkin: Played RW all year
LW/RW Nash: I think he played RW all year
On left wing, it could be:
*Parise
*D.Sedin
*Hall
*E.Kane
*Ryan
...
See how fast it thins out.
Anyways, RW is thinner than C too... so I'd favour keeping the RW if points are equal.
Looks like I have been strongly disagreed with.
In that format I'd still prefer Giroux. I'd have to see Kane outperform Giroux next year before I change my mind.
I agree that it's close but I've always enjoyed that Kane has more help in Chicago. Did a Cage Match on this a while back. Last year it looked pretty stupid but this year was vindication. So who is the right choice? I dunno, I'm still riding Kane.
The other factor I just noticed that clinches it for Giroux in this case for me is that he has Voracek, Hartnelll AND Simmonds.
With that kind of concentration, is team is screwed anyway if Giroux has a bad season, so might as well go all-in. Roo & Cek will be up there with the elite duos in the league for a long time.
