So quiet here after a loss on a trade deadline day where we made no moves.
For those who didn't watch, TSN said last night that Budaj will get the start tonight.

From the Globe:
The influential centre left Wednesday's 5-3 loss to Philadelphia with a sore groin, and while coach Michel Therrien intimated it isn't a serious injury, it would be a surprise if the Habs dressed their joint-leading goal scorer for Thursday's tilt against the scuffling Winnipeg Jets at the Bell Centre.
The Habs didn't practice on Thursday morning, having arrived late from Pennsylvania, but it's possible Max Pacioretty, who took a power-play slap shot from teammate P.K. Subban off the foot against Philly, could also miss out - forward Gabriel Dumont has been called up from Hamilton.

So if two are out and one is in, does that mean Weber plays up front? Or does that mean White is back?

Theme of the game: Winning despite the injuries. Even though there are several injuries at the moment the opponent was still the Jets. This was a very winnable game from the beginning. Glad to see the Habs come through with a strong effort. It's important to continue collecting points (53 now) because a shorthanded team against the Bruins on Saturday could be a difficult game.
Player of the game: Michael Ryder. He scored the first two goals, including the game-winner. He is a very flawed player with inconsistencies in just about every aspect of his game but his ability to score offsets all of the negatives.
Goaltending: Petr Budaj 33/34 (.971). Great game for the backup in front of some family who were in attendance. The Jets had a lot of low-quality shots which is a compliment to the defensive effort but Budaj made the tough saves when he had to.
Lars Eller was excellent centering Brian Gionta and Ryder. He had two assists and looks like a guy who could make the jump to that role full-time one day. His consistency is still lacking but the potential is there.
PK Subban... not his best game but still had two assists. His positioning still gets the team in trouble at times but if we focus on the big picture he did a solid job. He is now in the lead for points among defensemen with 30.
Alex Galchenyuk had a much better game. Very involved offensively and broke a goal drought that seemed to last about 100 years.
That's all for now... more writing duties tonight, this time for Fantrax...
