Um, it's a tough one. I haven't seen what visnovsky or Beauchemin are doing. I'd consider one of them.

This was my first thought too, but I think the OP worded it wrong and he should really be asking who he should drop from his lineup FOR Lupul lol.
I'd leave Lupul in IR until he shows signs of last year. There's no harm leaving him in IR. If he does perform, I'd drop Beauchemin. If he doesn't perform after a couple of weeks and you need the IR spot, just drop him.

Kinda depends for me on how many starting roster spots you have for each position. but at this point I would probably just keep him on IR for now and see what he does.
I have been burned way too many times by rushing to get the player off of IR only to watch them falter for 3 or 4 games first.
Or worse yet, they end up back on IR and someone already picked up the player you dropped.
Case in point from my team.
Versteeg, off of IR for what? 4 games or something silly like that.
Kesler, same deal only he decided to break his foot blocking a shot the inconsiderate b'stard.
Just kidding about Kesler btw but hopefully you get the point.
Leave him on the IR to see what happens first.
If he comes back and posts a 5 point night in his first game back then I will change my signature to say "I give bad advice, just ask Canucks_fan18"

unless you need the help now, keep him on IR, who knows where he will re-establish himself in the line-up. JVR seems to have locked down his spot with Kessel and i can't see Lupul producing like last year if he doesn't get top minutes. I'm not counting on him at this point but he could be a factor down the stretch.
