For those who keep track of weddings as an indicator of fantasy impact in the short-term, Carey Price is engaged...

Not fantasy-related, but here are some pictures and videos of Brandon Prust's arrival in Montreal. He will be wearing #8.

No contract for Subban yet, but he has apparently bulked up to 220. I'm not sure what it means, but it's there. My guess is Subban wants a lot of years and will sign before the lockout begins to make sure that he doesn't fall victim to a potential cap on contract length.

another good article on Subban's off season training.
Putting on weight but no fat.

This article also mentions that he plays pickup hockey with Tavares and Hodgson on Sunday nights somewhere in Toronto. If anyone knows what rink they use, I would love to go watch them.

Rene Bourque out 8-12 weeks after abdominal surgery. A few fans are wondering if he had guts installed. Oh well, that should cover whatever lockout we get.

This is yet another thing that makes Galchenyuk interesting in training camp.

So I guess Louis Leblanc makes the team out of training camp...

Yep, Leblanc and Galchenyuk are 2 guys who could benefit from that injury.
Other plausible scenarios if the season starts in time:
- Gallagher outplays them in training camp, gets 9 games, maybe more if he shines.
- Gomez (if he's still around) or Eller gets moved to the wing for a while.
- No youngster really stands out, good ol' Moen gets the gig by default. He does give some edge to the Plekanec / Gionta tandem, but he can't be placed there more than temporarily.
Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.
I think Prust gets a look there before Moen. Money talks, although Moen isn't exactly surviving on freezer food either. Gallagher or Bournival definitely make sense as short-term alternatives. I think Leblanc would be best equipped to do it over the full season though.

Good point, Prust could also be in the mix.

All kinds of twittering indicating that the Habs and Subban have agreed to a 3 year deal for $12M or thereabouts - of course that fraud kid blogger hockeyinsidderrr or however he spells it has now gone hogwild and accounts for lots of those tweets (I've unfollowed him but it's getting retweeted by sources I follow, unfortunately), but the original reports came from other sources, including Josh Rimer (pretty good source).
That would be a pretty good deal, not too much cap hit but enough to act as quite a lucrative "bridge" contract. Of course when the deal is up it means the Habs are probably looking at a long term contract at $6M plus (although we'll see what the new CBA will allow).

Leave it to the Habs to find a loophole in provincial laws to try and stop the lockout from happening...
