Defenseman Jamie McBain will be sidelined three to four weeks with a shoulder injury, Canes coach Paul Maurice said Monday night.
McBain, 23, was injured Friday in the game against the Washington Capitals. He missed Saturday's game against Columbus and had an MRI on Monday.
The rookie has five goals and 20 assists in 68 games this season. His overtime goal beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 on March 3, the Canes' last victory.

Why wouldn't he have been put on the IR yet? I know I've read he might be a week or so ahead of schedule, but still...
Haven't seen this noted anywhere, but McBain was back ahead of schedule playing last night. Picked up a PPA in his first game back, which is a great sign. You have to wonder a little if his PP time was a result of Pitkanen being out.
