Per Cap Geek (if i am reading it correctly) Sabres have a ~$4 mil to go in order to hit the floor. Assuming he signs, I expect Ennis to eat much of that $$$.
Sabres re-signed Marcus Foligno to a 2/$3.7 mil deal. That + McCormick puts them close to the cap floors.
...and the NHL basement floor. BAH-dum-psssssh!
I kill me.

I can't figure out exactly wtf Buffalo is up to, other than trying to get to the cap floor of course, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason to these signings
Murray was looking for vet leadership and players that could contribute on ice as well. Gionta and Gorges are obvious leaders. What really attracted Murray to both Gorges and Moulson was they wanted to be here. That spoke volumes to Murray, the fact that they chose Buffalo w/out provocation. Obviously Gorges was a trade, but the fact that he added Buffalo to his list was all Murray needed to hear. He got guys who will serve as mentors to the plethora o'prospects. Even McCormick, great PK player who will bring it every night and bleed for his mates.
Gorges is a great shut down dman, and Meszaros provides more offense. A bit much on the $$ for the latter, but Murray made no secret nor apology in stating that he would offer short term for above market $$ to hit the floor.
It's really just a change of attitude in the locker room, nutshell. That, and should Reinhart be full time outta the gate at least now he has quality vets around him who will help guide him through the rough patches. Guys who will cover for him should he miss an assignment or position.
I think Murray did great....exactly as planned.
@SmittysRant
What will the lines look like in Buffalo this season with all these additions??

There's gonna be some flux, due to youthful inconsistencies, and whether Reinhart makes it full time outta the gate...and I also think Ennis takes his rightful spot back on the wing. So let's say for now I like...
Moulson - Hodgson - Gionta
Ennis - Girgensons - Stafford
Foligno - Reinhart - Stewart
Ellis - Flynn/McCormick - Mitchell
Reinhart would see limited time on the third line for at least half the season, some PP time, and he'd be protected by two beefy wingers. If Reinhart's not ready then Ennis shifts back to centering the third line temporarily.
Gorges and Myers are your top d-pair
McCabe/Pysyk
Meszaros/Risto
I dunno...dpairings are iffy.

Bottleneckers (12/16 in 2022)
16 team, points only. G: 2-W, 4-SO.
Top 9F, 4D & 1G . Keep 15, Max 23

D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
G: Vasilevskiy
he's another year out. Ideally you want Mcdavid/Eichel top line, Reinhart #2, Hodgson (assuming he doesn't get moved) #3C, but that's where you want Grigorenko.
...and don't forget they extended Luke Adam which I found very interesting. Probably to get his stock up and move him in a package deal.
I think you want Ennis as a third line winger....Hodgson will ultimately get moved assuming Grigs can step up and take over.
This is all long term mind you.
@SmittysRant
I hear alot about Zadorov.. Is this guy valuable in points only leagues??
